Indians assail plan to cut housing aid
Bush doesn't even blink as he screws over the nation's poorest:

Feb. 21, 2005 12:00 AM

Native Americans from Arizona were among those voicing disappointment last week in Washington that the Bush administration plans to cut tens of millions of dollars from housing programs for Indian reservations but is asking Congress for $82 billion extra for Iraq.

"It just doesn't make sense," said Chester Carl, chief executive officer of the Navajo Housing Authority in Window Rock, who testified Wednesday before the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, chaired by Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

For fiscal 2006, Carl said, President Bush proposes what amounts to a more than $100 million, or 15 percent, cut in funding for Indian housing services. That would occur by way of a $40 million cut to the Native American Housing Block Grant (from $622 million approved by Congress in 2005 to $582 million) and proposed other shifts to the Indian Community Block Grant.

Carl, who also is chairman of the National American Indian Housing Council, said in an interview that the cuts would be devastating to the nation's 562 sovereign tribes, many of which continue to face deplorable housing conditions on their lands. He also pointed out that while Native Americans represent less than 1 percent of the U.S. population, they make up at least 1.6 percent of the armed forces, and that many of these Native Americans have served or are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

2. I don't know how many times I have said this,
but Bush SCREWING the poor is as anti-Christian as it gets. Why is it that when the Christians get "outraged" it's NEVER EVER about the fact that their President is hijacking their religion?!

It seems the Christians are always mad as hell about some innocuous thing or other, but for some reason it never occurs to them to get ANGRY at Bush for leading our country in a way that is the polar opposite of what Jesus lived for.
