AUSTIN -- Gov. Rick Perry tried to end Republican infighting on congressional redistricting Monday with a proposed West Texas map, but it put him squarely in the camp of House Speaker Tom Craddick and got a cool reception from Republican state senators.

The governor made his proposal on the eve of state Senate debate on redistricting, a battle postponed through two special sessions by a walkout of 11 Democratic senators. The Democrats have almost no ability to kill congressional redistricting in the third special session. Their best hope of stopping implementation of a bill is to delay passage so long that a federal court stays its use while legal challenges are ongoing.

4. Is this really goodhair's plan?
I understand that he was just in D.C. not long ago, and I seriously doubt that he has enough functioning brain cells of his own to come up with something original. Probably a Rove plan.
