Arafat Says US Encourages Israeli ‘Crimes’
http://www.arabnews.com/?page=4§ion=0&article=32529&d=24&m=9&y=2003

GAZA CITY, 24 September 2003 — Yasser Arafat accused Washington of encouraging Israeli “crimes” against his people yesterday as US President George W. Bush said the Palestinian people’s cause had been betrayed by their veteran leader.

“The (Israeli) occupiers and the settlers are making the mistake of denying the existence of our people,” Arafat said in a telephone address to Palestinian deputies gathered in Gaza City.

“Because of the arrogance of the force which is blindly supported and followed by certain powers, they are committing crimes against our people, our towns, our villages our (refugee) camps and our infrastructure,” he said in an implicit reference to the United States.

4. It's a fairly straightforward report consisting of quotes from Arafat

I don't see your problem unless it's just that it's from an Arab source?

5. Arafat also says bears use forested areas as restroom

And there are unsubstantiated reports quoting him as accusing the Pope of Catholicism.

8. Yes, that's the simple truth.
It doesn't make up for some Arafat blunders, but it's still the basic truth of the situation.

10. Bingo! What with Israel's support from PNAC/AIPAC/JINSA/JDL
and key people from both our political parties, I guess one could say that the U.S. is indeed backing Israel's apartheid, and supporting its fascist Likud government. I'd also say Arafat is spot on with this one.

11. Arafat's perfectly right: crime upon crime
And paid for with our tax dollars.

Polls show that US citizens clearly want Palestinians and Israelis treated equally, without favoritism shown to Israel. American voters don't want to see people kept in ghettos, denied basic human rights, shot at by troops, bombed and shelled by US-subsidized equipment, or put behind an apartheid wall. Yet in Congress and the White House, Dems and Repukes alike fall all over themselves facilitating these very sins.

A damned shame when Americans can't get a little representation for their views out of either major party!
