AIG's Greenberg to Step Down as Chief Executive (Bush donor)
Spitzer slays another GOP executive dirtbag! (see Greenberg's political donations)

------------------
American International Group Inc.'s Maurice ``Hank'' Greenberg may step down as chief executive officer of the world's biggest insurer amid probes of potential earnings manipulation and bid-rigging, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing unidentified people familiar with the matter.

...

Separately, AIG is being investigated in an industrywide inquiry of ``non-traditional'' policies that may help companies smooth their earnings and are often sold to other insurers as reinsurance.

AIG said in a statement last month that New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer and the Securities and Exchange Commission sent subpoenas seeking information on such policies, as well as its accounting for reinsurance. AIG's Winans on March 7 said Spitzer personally directed one of the subpoenas to Greenberg.

1. Our next Governor.......................
:grouphug: I can't wait! The stench of Pataki will linger for quite some time in New York, but if anyone can clean it up, it's Eliot.
I insure my auto with AIG for 2 years. I moved twice in that period, and each time AIG almost doubled my premiums each time. The official explanation; you're moving to more congested area. I moved from Clearwater, FL to Avon Park, FL. That's like moving from NYC to Woodstock. More congested? :grr: So I canceled my insurance and went with Geico. AIG DELIBERATELY screwed it up so it looked like I canceled well before my policy with Geico took affect. Needless to say, I started to get many nasty letters from the FL DMV saying my insurance had lapsed and to surrender my plates. OR pay a fine of over $300.00 to make up for the lapse and penalties.
After about 2 weeks of being CONSTANTLY on the phone trying to get it straightened out, AIG finally said it was their fault and I had my plates re-instated. AIG can go fuck themselves. They deserve everything they've got coming to them.

2. Greenburg was once being considerd for head of CIA
I'm a little concerned that Spitzer would go after him personally.

5. Geico is one of Warren Buffett's companies
Buffett is definitely on our side and Geico has very competitive rates, usually.

Virtually all insurance companies are swill, though.

4. If anyone in your family has been in the military,
check out USAA. This company has had good ratings in the past. It used to be for people who were or had been officers in the military (or their family members). Now it includes enlisted.
