Cannibal gets life for killings
BBC

A convicted killer with "a desire to cannibalise his victims" has been jailed for the "rest of his natural life" after admitting killing two men.

Peter Bryan, 34, was arrested as he prepared to eat part of one man, Brian Cherry, 43, at Mr Cherry's London flat.

He went on to kill Richard Loudwell, 59, at Broadmoor special hospital in April last year, while on remand.

Bryan pleaded guilty on Tuesday at the Old Bailey to two manslaughters on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

2. No worries Arkana. I suggest ...
that you instead, put your lunch ON ICE - sort of like Bryan stored his leftovers. Oh, that was in poor taste. Excuse me. :P

4. Awe, I'm sorry ... just acting goofy.
A great social scientist often crooned, "If we couldn't laugh we'd all go insane." :hi:

5. Let me get this straight
They caught him cooking up a guy he had just killed, and they LET HIM OUT ON BAIL????

It's not like it wasn't pretty obvious that this guy has, er, issues.

12. Not quite
Broadmoor secure hospital is where they send the criminally insane, convicted or not. It's definitely the right place for someone found about to eat a victim. But the security there has failed in a big way if he killed a fellow inmate.

6. Here is another version of the story
It states that he cooked the guy's brains with butter in the frying pan.

7. The answer for killers here in the good old USA is cook what you kill.

Then, instead of being executed, they'll get life like this guy.

OK, OK, I know this is in Britain, a far more advanced society than ours, but come on, the US can change right?

Like Red Green says:

I'm a man,
but I can change,
If I have to,
I guess.

10. Have y'all heard about the Japanese cannibal murderer?
Sorry, that kind of sounded like a set up to a joke, but I'm trying to think of his name. I read about it in one of those Apolcalypse books from Feral House. Anyway, the guy killed a young German woman, as I recall, then ate parts of her. He was convicted, sent to an asylum, eventually got out, and became a best-selling author. His novel, I believe, was about a cannibal murderer. It's one of those "you've got to be kidding me" type of cases.

14. That was Issei Sagawa.
He murdered and cannibalized a classmate at Sorbonne University in 1981, was declared unfit to stand trial, then extradited back to Japan where he essentially got a slap on the wrist and now walks a free man with a successful writing career.

After reading about this guy on Wikipedia, I had nightmares about him showing up as the celebrity judge on Iron Chef some week ... :eyes:
