Bleak Forecast For Ski Industry (regarding no more snow by 2050)
The ski industry provides life blood for Colorado. Perhaps this might gain the attention of Colorado's Limbaugh/O'Reilly naysayers when the Colorado economy begins to tank. We know lack of snow won't happen overnight.

http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/local/article/0,1299,DRMN_15_3634381,00.html

"ASPEN - Colorado's $2 billion ski industry could be dead by 2050 unless radical steps are taken to address global warming and save the state's prized champagne powder.

This is not a line from the latest Hollywood disaster flick about the impending climate apocalypse. And it's not the Chicken Little ravings of some kook on late-night talk radio.

This gloomy pronouncement comes from an executive at the Aspen Skiing Co., operators of a four-mountain ski mecca in one of the world's best-known and poshest destination resorts.

"Things look bleak," said Auden Schendler, the company's director of environmental affairs. "

5. Good question. I was wondering that myself.
If the snow goes, do we still get moisture? Almost every state around us will suffer. California, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Texas, Kansas....They all depend on Colorado river water for crop irrigation, wetland and river habitat viability, drinking water, recreation, etc. This is bad in so many ways. Our snowfall is seasonal, snow melt is an essential part of our ongoing water supply. This could create a disruption of the general economy.

4. Visit Michigan if you want to ski. We had 70+inches this winter and two
more inches expected tonight and isn't Sunday the first day of Spring.

7. It's already happening in Washington State
Our skiing is nonexistent this year due to NO SNOW in the mountains. At least one of the skiing groups filed bankruptcy; the others laid off staff and are hoping for better news next year.

Somehow, after reading the above article, I don't think that good news will be forthcoming.
