Screeners Thought They Saw Gun

POSTED: 9:34 am EST March 27, 2005
UPDATED: 9:42 am EST March 27, 2005

HEBRON, Ky. -- Part of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport was shut down for two hours Sunday morning after authorities said baggage screeners saw what they thought was a gun.

Airport spokesman Ted Bushelman said three concourses and one terminal were closed just after 7 a.m. and reopened after 9 a.m.

He said authorities shut down the section to find the person who brought the luggage with the apparent gun. Bushelman said he didn't immediately know if a gun was found or if the person has been arrested.

The Transportation Security Administration is looking into the incident.

Bushelman said flights on Delta Airlines, Comair, Northwest and Continental were affected by the partial shutdown. He said it would take at least an hour for the airport to catch up with the delayed flights.

2. They shut down when I connected in Feb.
because of Two simultaneous but unrelated security breaches. This is starting to sound a little odd.

8. Given the number of people carrying concealed weapons these days
I guess that's bound to happen. Maybe the individual forgot they had it???
