KPOJ (Portland, OR) Adds Thom Hartmann For Local Mornings

Left-leaning talk KPOJ (Progressive Talk) Portland, Ore., which bills itself as “The World’s First Air America Radio Affiliate,” goes live and local in mornings, adding syndicated talk host and best selling author Thom Hartmann to its lineup.

Hartmann, who will move from his home in Vermont, has recently filled in for Air America host Randi Rhodes while she was off the air for health reasons.

Local news vet Heidi Tauber and longtime news and talk show producer Paul Pimentel will join Hartmann in mornings.

AA’s “Morning Sedition” will move to an earlier time slot on the station.

and skips and stutters on almost all of her newscasts, but
she's nice and everything.

I'll be glad for a reasonable show in the morning and not
all of the forced laughing on MS.

I've never been, but it sure looks pretty in my mind.

I hope the two folks will not clutter up Thom's show, which is a very good one. But, if this gives him greater exposure, fine. More people need to hear this great human.

5. Thom moved to Portland last week

Thu/Fri were reruns, while he packed and traveled. His program remains aired at the same time, just a new city.

I only know Tom Hartman from when he's filled in for Randi and I think he is excellent...

Although I did like getting up to Morning Sedition, lately the show's idiosyncracies have began to grate on me...but I'm glad they moved it earlier, all the station has on now from 1am to 6 am are rebroadcasts...

Actually this is a probably a coup for KPOJ, now if only they could broadcast some of the weekend shows from AAR!

4. That's great! Thom is so well informed and articulate. I am in

the middle of reading Unequal Protection, the Rise of Corporate Dominance and the Theft of Human Rights. Everyone should read it! The book details how huge multinational corporations are destroying democracy and our planet. We must end corporate person-hood, before it's too late.

Wish they'd put Hartmann in from noon-3 PM in place of Ed Schultz. Nice to have something live & local, though, even if he is from Vermont. Too bad we can't have 2 stations in the same market, AirAmerica 1 & AirAmerica 2.
