Few turn out at `Thank you, Arnold' rally
http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/11385581.htm

By Dion Nissenbaum
Knight Ridder Sacramento Bureau

SACRAMENTO - Efforts to generate grass-roots support for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's ``Year of Reform'' agenda fizzled today at the State Capitol at a tepid rally that drew anemic support.

With private security guards stationed along the Capitol grounds to fend off counter-protesters, only a few hundred Schwarzenegger supporters turned out for a ``Thank You Arnold'' rally hosted by Hollywood actor Tom Arnold.

... Schwarzenegger allies leading the signature gathering campaign for the proposals organized today's rally in an effort to demonstrate public support for the governor. Organizers said they expected 1,000 people to turn out. Instead, about 300 supporters, including a healthy contingent of Republican legislative staff members, took part.

... but this time you're picking the wrong team to back, as the crowd tried to show you!

Are you going to rationalize that you blew it trying to have a cast party for "True Lies" or "Red Heat" about 10 years too late? Though the first movie title seems to sum up what we've been seeing from our governor and our president lately.

Heard on NPR this morning about 150 showed up. Interesting that this report says 300. Can we assume there were 150 supporters and 150 Republican Party hacks at BEST? (more likely they were all Republican Party hacks. Are there that many RP hacks in KallyFornia?)

62. Tepid wins
if there is no opposition. The Dems better get a hero up there or Arnold will simply get a cropped photo shoot out of these events for an easy, lazy and fraudulent victory in the upcoming election. He has been trying to shield himself from a frothing reaction against all GOP, himself included, but does he really have anything to fear?

There is the adage "never interrupt an enemy while he is making a mistake" much abused to the point of putting up no opposition. Mistakes don't matter to the GOP because the big thing is they can't really seal a popular vote without the Big Lie anyway. The big tent of the current GOP IS putting all their flaws, failures, crimes and flubs under this tent.

That cover has to be blown big time. The adage was meant to impart wisdom not inertia.
