Much easier than simply making her life hell til she quits or setting up crappy performance reviews to justify firing her. And no whistle-blower protections....

I dunno, the backfire potential is enormous -- but in my experience, Rethugs never think that far ahead. Have to cogitate on this one.

2. Excellent post. I had wondered this very same thing myself.

I mean to me one of the great unanswered questions is exactly what the two leakers and their handlers were trying to accomplish. Clearly the worse the CIA looked or, as this person points out, if it was neutered by sabotaging the work of its operatives, the more easily they could publicly justify using their private shop, the Office of Special Plans, and its stature would be enhanced, which of course would provide them with the ready made intel to justify their further PNAC excursions. Just a thought.
