10. That was my first thought
since Rove was a student of that worm Donald Segretti (of the Smear Muskie Campaign, and I'm old enough to remember it well) and most recently... of the Smear Dan Rather Campaign.

The student has exceeded all expectations of the master, so one should tread carefully.

27. And if that's not bad enough, rove and junior were both students of Lee
Atwater. Both of them were disciples, learning the dirty tricks of the trade at his knee. The "brains" behind the Willie Horton smear of Dukakis - a smear for which Atwater felt compelled to apologize to Dukakis when the oh-gosh-isn't-he-cute-and-hip-republiCON-because-he-plays-electric-guitar Atwater was on his death bed with brain cancer. They're lice. Just a fucking infestation. Opportunistic infections all.

8. Bush-Cheney Named as Beneficiaries of Lobbying Firm Largesse
BREAKING!!! DELAY FUNDRAISING SCANDAL EXPANDS INTO WHITE HOUSE!!! BIG TIME!!!
Bush-Cheney Named as Beneficiaries of Lobbying Firm Largesse in Numbers Far Beyond Anything So Far Tied to Embattled House Majority Leader!!!

In the first of several reports from RAW STORY on an expansion of the widening fundraising morass currently plaguing Republican House Majority Leader, Tom DeLay, the Whitehouse itself is now being named as a major beneficiary of Jack Abramoff's lobbying firm in dollar numbers that dwarf anything DeLay has so far been tied to!!!

RAW STORY to carry late afternoon exclusive!

11. Um,....
In case no one has noticed, campaign contributions are not illegal unless the paperwork is not filled out right.

I don't see anything in this 'report' that suggests that the 'largesse' was illegally contributed.

What am I missing other than a 'national enquirer' type headline?

I don't see that.

(I'm amazing myself that i'm 'defending' BushCo...but that's not what I'm doing....I'm asking: where's the fucking beef here?)

26. in numbers bigger than anything delay has been tied to would suggest
limits were violated. But they don't say its contributions. Didn't it say beneficiaries. What could that mean? ok I know what it mean, but what in this case does it mean?

17. It doesn't say anything about campaign contributions.
Delay's problems revolve around "gifts" from lobbyists, to him, not a campaign.

19. That's my point
The 'article' says 'largesse'.....wtf does that mean?

I'm all for outing anything that they've done illegally, but I'm not seeing it in this thing.

I think we lose credibility when we scream 'fire' where there is none....lord knows there is plenty of criminal activity these bozo's have engaged in,.....i'd like to pursue those things, not some glaring unsubstantiated headline.
