Residents question grand jury Taser decision (Williams case / Atlanta)
<snip> At one point, Frederick Williams can be heard screaming, "Don't kill me, man! Don't kill me!" as a group of sheriff's deputies carry him into the Gwinnett jail. <snip>

But seven Gwinnett residents, members of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Voice of Gwinnett online panel who volunteer to answer questions about local issues, agreed to view the videotape at the newspaper's request. The group's opinion was unanimous: The tape should have been seen by a grand jury. In fact, the residents were incredulous that the panel had not seen it. <snip>

Gwinnett District Attorney Danny Porter presented the investigation to a grand jury in April but did not show jurors the videotape. Porter said earlier this month that he offered to show it, but jurors declined.

The grand jury also was not asked to consider criminal charges against any deputies. Instead, the jurors were asked to use Williams' case to consider whether to investigate the county's policies for Taser use. <snip>
