Exchange of Fire Started at the Border Between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan,
Tashkent. Exchange of fire started near the village of Tefektosh, at the border between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, after armed rebels attacked Uzbek soldiers, announced AP. Eyewitnesses say several soldiers were killed. Attackers managed to escape on Kyrgyz territory.

That's all there is, and it's being denied vehemently too.

3. updated AP link: Uzbek Unrest Persists; Soldiers Killed
FERGANA, Uzbekistan - Groups of attackers killed several soldiers in eastern Uzbekistan on Sunday before fleeing across the border into Kyrgyzstan, villagers said, and about 500 bodies were laid out in the nearby city where troops fired on a crowd of protesters two days earlier, a doctor said.

Residents' accounts of the fighting in Tefektosh could not be independently confirmed, but blood stains were visible on the pavement.

Villagers in the border town of Tefektosh said several troops were killed in a pre-dawn skirmish between armed men and government forces. One villager who declined to give his name said eight government troops were killed.

The villagers said more than 500 people, including militants, crossed into Kyrgyzstan after the clash. Their account could not be verified, but blood was seen on the pavement.

6. This is the blow back from the destablization of the rout of the USSR.
It's all to be expected. It will continue until another totalitarian regime unifies these areas such as in the US.
