Bush Says He Fears for Americans in Iraq
Bush Says He Fears for Americans in Iraq

Wednesday, June 1, 2005

(06-01) 15:29 PDT WASHINGTON, (AP) --

President Bush said Wednesday that he doesn't spend much of his time worrying but that he does fear for Americans and others in insurgency-wracked Iraq and for the safety of his 23-year-old twin daughters.

"I spend most of my time worrying about people losing their lives in Iraq, both Americans and Iraqis," Bush told The Associated Press and other broadcasters in an interview.

He suggested he has some concerns about the implications of his high-profile position for his daughters, Jenna and Barbara.

"I worry about letting these little girls get into a situation where something unpleasant could happen to them," Bush said. "We're pretty much over the anger — not anger, the frustrations — of living in a fishbowl."

snnip...
But, Bush added: "You know, I don't worry all that much, frankly. ... I've got peace of mind."

Look at the quotes:

"I spend most of my time worrying about people losing their lives in Iraq, both Americans and Iraqis".

"You know, I don't worry all that much, frankly....I've got peace of mind".

WELL, which is it George? Either you're worrying "most of the time", or you're not.

Sheesh. Imagine, saying stuff like that, all in 1 press conference. By the way, his "little girls" are not so little anymore. Someone posted some photos of those "girls" I think it was on the DU, and I was pretty amazed.

35. A blatant psychotic pattern of most pathetic liars.
Edited on Wed Jun-01-05 07:32 PM by Amonester
First, he lies (again):

"I spend most of my time worrying about people losing their lives in Iraq, both Americans and Iraqis,"

And concludes with his "true" feelings (again):

"You know, I don't worry all that much, frankly. ... I've got peace of mind."

So... no. This war criminal doesn't care at all how many thousands died, die, and will die; he doesn't care at all how many lost limbs, lose limbs, and will; not at all how many got their skins burned, their organs poisoned, and how many lose their dignity while being tortured. Nope. As long as the money's damn good, "who cares what they think."

On edit: added last paragraph.

I've read (no link sorry) that we have rolled over 1 million troops through iraq. (this figure may be low or high not certain) soooo.

My guess is 5K for a top quality vest. etc.

1,000,000

so where did the 200 billion go?

40. I'm struck by the word
"Unpleasant." That seems a huge understatement to what could happen to a member of the first family (lower case intentional) should they come to harm in whatever manner. I think a leg waxing would be "unpleasant" but having your children in danger of any kind would be gut-wrenching, intolerable, horrifying, etc.
Reminds me of him calling the pilots of September 11 "folks."

OK, girls, last round let's get out of here.

Later in the throes of hangover "Daddy, this man called you a murderer."

60. Well, this really is behavior typical of a psychopath
On the one hand, making a statement (probably the truth):

But, Bush added: "You know, I don't worry all that much, frankly. ... I've got peace of mind."

On the other hand, remembering how normal people feel about a serious situation and attempting to mimic their emotional state by the dry recitation of the opposite statement:

"I spend most of my time worrying about people losing their lives in Iraq, both Americans and Iraqis," Bush told The Associated Press and other broadcasters in an interview.

This really is the way the mind of a psychopath works - they can't feel empathy, but they know it is useful and important to pretend to in the presence of other people.

63. Any psychology students want to analyze this ?
"I worry about letting these little girls get into a situation where something unpleasant could happen to them," Bush said. "We're pretty much over the anger — not anger, the frustrations — of living in a fishbowl."

Emphasis mine but I never took psychology.

75. A good Dem leader would make Bush eat those words.
"You know, I don't worry all that much, frankly. ...I've got peace of mind."

He doesn't worry? All that much? Maybe he should share his secret to not worrying? Could it be that he doesn't worry because he just doesn't give a shit?

78. Glad he has peace of mind, wish I did
My best friend was deployed to Iraq about a month ago. He's the CO of an EOD company, and he told me something really interesting about how they are deploying troops now. No "new" companies, brigades, etc, are to be deployed to Iraq, so the Repubs can say they aren't increasing troop strength in Iraq. Only replacement groups can be deployed - replacing a group in Iraq that is rotating out. Now, part of his company was already there, but since sending the rest of them would apparently constitute a new deployment, what the DOD does is to individually deploy each soldier, not as a company. However, they can't take their company equipment with them since on paper, the company is still stateside. what they had to do was get another company that was going over as a replacement company (and thus going to use equipment already in Iraq) to take their equipment as though it was the replacement company's.

Fucked up, no?

He sends me periodic updates. So far, thank god, no one in his company has been hurt or killed, but the whole reason they were over there was that three team leaders had been killed in one month, so the danger is ever present.

President Bush Says He Fears for Americans in Iraq and for His Twin Daughters

WASHINGTON Jun 2, 2005 — President Bush said Wednesday that he doesn't spend much of his time worrying but that he does fear for Americans and others in insurgency-wracked Iraq and for the safety of his 23-year-old twin daughters.

"I spend most of my time worrying about people losing their lives in Iraq, both Americans and Iraqis," Bush told The Associated Press and other broadcasters in an interview.

84. OK
Now he worries about people getting killed. Thanks, Bush. I guess the super caffinated coffee finally kicked in. Dumbass. Of course, his exit plan is to drain Iraq of oil, allow their society to collapse and say he tried.

Of course he does. You can see the anguish in his face every time he appears in public. Obviously he is deeply tormented, and that he mourns the death of each and every American and Iraqi. We see him choking up as he stands by the graves of all the soldiers whose funerals he attends... oh, wait...
