W.House launches second day of attacks on Democrats

Reuters
Wednesday, June 15, 2005; 4:11 PM

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House accused Democratic leaders on Wednesday of obstructing President Bush's agenda in a second straight day of combative attacks against the minority party on Capitol Hill.

"I think the American people reject those who simply say no and stand in the way of getting things done," White House spokesman Scott McClellan told reporters.

The tough talk came as Bush prepared to play host to many members of Congress from both parties on Wednesday night at a picnic on the White House South Lawn.

The rhetoric suggested a level of frustration by the president at his struggle to advance his second-term agenda.

35. And they're failing miserably.
The Democrats have not successfully blocked a single Appeals Court nomination, a single administration nomination, a dollar of funding for Guantanamo, a dollar of funding for Iraq, a dollar of funding for abu Ghraib, or a dollar of bonuses for Halliburton.

48. None of this is about Bush agenda its about the gloves-off Dean way of
speaking about their ugly, bloody motives, their methods, their racism, their corruption and not backing down. Only Biden has been asshole enough to repeat his attacks on Dean, all the rest of the faint-hearted Demos have realized they should STFU.

And anyone here who criticize those who criticize Deans truthtelling as "eating our own", should go take a flying leap.

The WH and RNC is cracking under this truthtelling about what they really are and is now lashing out. It's not gonna work.

As the elephant backed up against the flea, she stepped on a thorn and cried out in pain. The flea, just before being squashed into a small stain, yelled "Suffer, b**ch!"

When do we take to the streets with torches and pitchforks? :eyes:

They want an opposition. Someone in the press corps better turn that shit around and hand Scotty and Bush their asses. You don't agree to a bad idea just for the sake of agreeing. If all someone offers is bad ideas, you try to stop every one of them.

31. How about some Dem leader standing up to tell the truth
About who is the REAL obstructionist here. why it's the American people who are obstructing Mr. Bush's' agenda. If the public backed his privatization scheme it would have been law, long ago. If the public backed any of his give it to the rich, stick it the poor agenda, everything would have been implemented and his approvals would be at 98%. It is his agenda that has his approvals in the basement and the American people know exactly what his agenda is.

what Bush is missing is, if he stop trying to shift blame to the Democrats and actually listen to the people, instead of jamming his radical right wing agenda down the peoples throats, he would learn that the American people are NOW WISHING that they had obstructed his illegal invasion of Iraq, thereby saving life, limbs, and sanity of over 40,000 americans and over 100,000 iraqi civilians, they are wishing they had obstructed his horrible bankruptcy bill.
So, if Mr. Bush want to keep labeling the American people as obstructionist, he can go right ahead, for we will insure that as the leader of the republican party, the rest of the party is tied to him, his agenda, and the labels he so recklessly throw around
