A 39-year-old soldier from Louisville was killed in an explosion last week in Iraq, the Pentagon said Sunday.

Sgt. 1st Class Christopher W. Phelps died last Thursday when an improvised explosive device detonated near his military vehicle, officials said.

Phelps was assigned to the Army's 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, based at Fort Carson, Colo.

On the same day, another soldier from Kentucky — Sgt. Joseph M. Tackett, 22 — died in Baghdad of a non-combat related injury, the Pentagon said earlier. Tackett's mother said her son had been shot, but she was waiting for more details.

4. Non-graphic display of place and times of military deaths in Iraq

Non-graphic, no people or blood, just dots showing up over time, where and when. Loads pretty fast and is quite something. I am sorry all you people, families, friends.

7. Drop the culture!
They don't have to be male or female, they are all OURS! They are the the human chain that was born to be the extended truth in America.
They are the neighbors with family and children who chose to be a part of the home front in the Reserve and National Guard. They are those who joined to charge forward in the hunt for the real terrorists.
