White House Acknowledges Ballooning Deficit
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House said on Tuesday federal budget deficits would balloon to a record $455 billion this fiscal year and to $475 billion in 2004, a presidential election year, even without factoring in the mounting cost of the U.S. occupation of Iraq (news - web sites).

The government will also add over $2 trillion to the national debt over the next five years, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) said in a report.
