Completion of new Iraqi constitution draft this week -- Iraqi MP

IRBIL, July 16 (KUNA) -- Iraqi MP Dr. Munther al Fadhel said Saturday that this week will witness the completion of the new Iraqi constitution draft.

Fadhel, a member of the parliamentary new constitution drafting committee, told KUNA that after the wording completed, the draft will be discussed by the parliament and a referendum on the draft will take place on the 18th of October.

She said the majority of the 55-member drafting committee agreed on a federal united Iraq, and on the parliamentary rather than the presidential system for the country.
