Democrat Party boss blasts storm response
Democrat Party boss blasts storm response

MIAMI · Democratic Party chief Howard Dean, speaking at a church conference, took his turn Wednesday in blaming federal policies for the suffering in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Addressing the National Baptist Convention of America, Dean said post-hurricane tragedies fell disproportionately on black people, as well as the poor and the elderly.

"We need people to remember forever what they saw on TV last week," he said at a luncheon at the Hyatt Regency. "The ugly truth is that skin color, age and economics played a role in who survived and who did not.

"How could we forget that race still matters in this country? We haven't swept poverty away. We've just swept it under the rug."
(snip/...)

1. Dean has to elaborate more. Give the peeps WHY this occured
Cronyism

Unable to think Solutions, no Originality, no Common Sense, etc

Bush himself, suffers from the above, the Team, weak as it is, is stifled by the Head Man loss of original thoughts and clues...

WHY did this have to happen? The Storm is Nature and we cannot do anything about that, but beyond this sooner or later storm, Why was the actions of Gov't officials so Lame, so inadequate, so Cruel?

Since the weather scientists figured out this place was a disaster waiting to happen, they knew the risks of having a city under sea level, they started planning. This was in National Geographic. on TV, etc. The Feds had a Plan.

Obviously, none of the plans were used. Brown let us Down. So did the HLS guy, Chertoff. Excuses and distractions from these 2 are lame LAME....unable to take the Blame they so rightly deserve along with the guy who appointed them. Bush knew these 2 were lacking about their given positions. They were cronies.

The Religion editor can apparently write in non-orwellian english, I wonder which editor did the headline.

3. Same here. He/she also opted to use "party boss," a truly stupid choice.
It has the effect of invoking images of corrupt gangsters. I believe it was a deliberate attempt to cheapen readers' view of Dean. It's a sneaky, underhanded, dishonest backstabbing attempt to pack negativity into what should have been a neutral headline.

6. It is a deliberate slur.
Like "militant" for someone that disagrees with you.
Mr. Dean IS the Democratic Party Boss, and that drives them nuts,
but you will never seen the RNC Chair called a "boss".

7. Why hasn't any body thought of this:
Toxicologist on Democracy Now says water in NOLA is deadly to the touch. Chemical cocktail of unknown composition will absorb thru the skin and attack organs.

Where are the hazmat suits? How many rescue hero's will die because of
lack on information?

9/11 ground zero rescuers are dying now of respiratory disease now because
of lies told then.

8. notice the use of the word "blame" there
Rove has already won folks. The media has picked up on the genius word of "blame" and, you watch, they'll say "blame" every time a Democrat opens his or her yap. But a Republican will "criticize"

9. Whats wrong with blame?
The ugly propaganda isnt the word blame, its the term 'blame game'.

The idea of blame is fine, its the idea that its just a game that they are trying to spread.
