U.S. states ranked on work-place quality

Big News Network.com Wednesday 26th October, 2005 (UPI)

A University of Massachusetts study released Wednesday found that the best states to work in are Delaware, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Vermont and Iowa.

The school's Political Economy Research Institute also found that the worst states to work in are Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, South Carolina and Utah

3. Good idea, but...
I really have to wonder about the "job opportunity" component. Look at which states are #1 and #2 for job opportunity - North and South Dakota. By contrast, my own state of Massachusetts is #25, and California is #51. Does anyone seriously believe that there's more job opportunity in North Dakota than in California? If that were true we'd have a lot of people moving from the sunny coast to the cold north instead of vice versa. If one factor is off the overall results are off, and the job opportunity factor seems way off. I'd need to see a lot more description of precise methodology before I'd consider these results credible.
