Chilean Court to Analyze New Privilege Withdrawal to Pinochet
Santiago, Chile, Nov 1 (Prensa Latina) Santiago de Chile Appeals Court set November 9 to examine whether to withdraw immunity privileges from ex Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet for participation in crimes in Villa Grimaldi.

Judge Alejandro Solis made the request on finding evidence of Pinochet´s participation in 59 cases of torture, kidnapping and murder of opponents of his military regime between 1974 and 1975.

This would not be the first withdrawal of immunity of the former senator-for-life, who has had some 300 charges filed against him.

Prosecutors Hernan Quesada, Nelson Caucoto, Hector Salazar, Fabiola Letelier and Sergio Concha filed the requirements to try Pinochet for masterminding crimes against humanity. <snip>

1. If ONLY, after all this time, somehow, he would have to stand trial
for just one of his many, many hellish crimes against suspected political opponents. It's so easy for some people to dismiss. They simply can't be bothered to ponder over torment, torture, terrifying, degrading murders which snuffed out so many lives.

I hope he can't sleep, and hasn't slept since he started torturing and slaughtering Chileans and other citizens caught in Chile during his reign of terror.
