When Alexia Harriton was born, she was not expected to live beyond six months. She suffers multiple disabilities including deafness and blindness.
Ms Harriton is seeking compensation from her mother's doctor on the basis that duty of care was breached when there was a failure to diagnose rubella.

On the one hand I didn't think anyone wouldn't know about rubella, but then again I wasn't having kids back then so what would I know. Also, this is the sort of thing we pay doctors for so maybe there should be some duty of care. The only thing I know for sure is that this will make Freepers heads explode.
