Zogby: Bush, Local Issues Decided '05 Contests (Bush Dragged GOP Down)
Poll conducted in the aftermath of 2005 races in Va., N.J., Ohio & Calif. highlight reasons voters cast ballots.

George W. Bush's current low approval ratings were a major factor in defeats handed to Republican candidates and initiatives sponsored by the Republican governor of the nation's most populous state, surveys conducted in key 2005 battlegrounds by Zogby International show.

The surveys, conducted in Virginia, New Jersey, California and Ohio, highlight the reasons voters in those four states cast ballots against GOP gubernatorial candidates in Virginia and New Jersey and against four reform initiatives backed by Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in California.

"There are some exceptions to the idea that all politics is local, and Republicans in Virginia, California and New Jersey are smarting from a failure to realize that. People pay attention to what their leaders are supporting, and this poll shows some leading Republicans figures don't wear the coattails they once did," said Fritz Wenzel, Zogby International's communications director.

I think this is the winning sign of the University of Texas, if I'm not mistaken.

Anyway, kicked and recommended. Thanks so much.

6. George W Albatross has a certain "flair" to it
What has any Republican in this administration or Congress done to gain any American votes? They haven't moved this country forward or responded to any of their promises?

We were a lot better off before any of them were elected.

Where election reform issues showed 50 point swings from 2 polls
and benefited republicans despite a national trend against * and
republicans.

We have to get a clean vote. End of story.

24. I don't understand the numbers from Ohio....
They make no sense. Look at the first one....men and women then the total. Please explain those numbers to me.

I live in Ohio and worked on RON from the very beginning. I never heard that Soros had backed this....EVER. I love George Soros and appreciate his help ...but I never heard this. These damn pugs and their religious wackos are killing this state.

28. Here is what I heard from my state congressman
and from Zach Space's wife. (Zach is running against Bob Ney in the 18th.) The Republicans cannot defend their record in Ohio, therefore they are trying to tie all Democrats to George Soros. The tv ads against RON hit hard about out of state funding for RON, and print material that went out to their base used George Soros's name over and over. Every time we mention corruption, they throw up a defense using George Soros. It does not matter whether it is true or not. Perception become reality.

29. I had no idea that is what the pukes were doing....using
George Soros' name on their propaganda. I need to get on one of their mailing lists so I can keep track of their bullshit. In fact, I should attend some meetings.

Did you look at those numbers??? They make no sense! 44% of men think we need reform; 55% of women do.....but the overall total is 40%??? What am I missing here? The numbers are like this all thru the poll. At the bottom, there is a statement about 'adjustments to reflect the population.' Does Ohio's population have a third gender? Aliens from outspace? Robotic Clones? Maybe that would explain what has happened to this state!

Do we have any statisticians here that can explain these numbers?

The Columbus Dispatch did a poll before the election as they always do....it has always been reliable....UNTIL NOW, of course. Issues 2 and 3 were winning. 5 was close. 4 was failing but there was a large Undecided segment.

Blackwell decided weeks ago what the results for the 4 RON Issues would be...how can anyone prove he did this? He is so arrogant now as to make the numbers outlandishly high in his favor.

Anyone who thinks he won't be the next Governor of Ohio is naive....he counts the votes. Ohio is Karl Rove's little lab rat...see what he has done here?

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

9. The Democrats better be paying attention to this & take it to heart.
They need to stay on the attack and emphasize the "close working relationship" between bunkerboy and the entire repuke party!

They better not let up any now that they have finally started to put on the gas and find their balls/ovaries/spines.

11. Can you imagine how Bush is taking this news?
The most recent article describes Bush as "out of touch", "messianic", and "on a mission from God". So somebody finally breaks the news to Bush that his "buddies" including Arnold, lost their elections.

Bush must think God is teasing him, or maybe goading him into action of some kind. Bush, in his cocaine-corroded brain, must realize something's up. He can't truly believe everything is coming up roses! So how do they break the news gently to the old boy that he's radioactive.

18. Oh, Yeah!!!
Outside of my own Senator, Prick Santorectum, I can't think of ANYONE in Congress I'd rather see go down than that bitch, Musgrave!!

God, what a fucking bitch she is! Makes me glad not to be a Coloradan.

We are almost assuredly going to toss Santorectum overboard next year. Casey's got a 20-point lead on Santorectum.

I hope Musgrave gets as firmly rejected as it appears Santorectum will be.

20. Even in NYC where the GOP-er had the billions, the press, the weak
opponent - he won by default. For all the 'landslide" cheerleading hin his bought off media, should all people who voted last time (dismal, after 911) shown up to vote - he would have lost. Tons of propaganda only succeeded in keeping people away from the polls 9something to work on)

27. But, but.. AP has a really important story of how Bush is HELPING them!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051129/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush

I just have to laugh when I read this press releases from the GOP disguised as articles. When Scotty "I cannot tell anything but a lie" McClellan is quoted blathering on about Bush's wonderfulness, you KNOW it's gotta be some good stenographic fiction on the part of AP.

35. Funny You Should Say That
I have been referring to Bush as King Sadim (reverse Midas) for quite some time.
I have long said that everything Midas touched turned to gold, everything Bush touches turns into a huge pile of shit! Hence my referring to him as King Sadim. (Interestingly enough, it was later pointed out to me the similarity between the names "Sadim" and "Saddam...."

36. If Clinton was sidelined because of Monica
(even with his high approval rating), with George's horrible numbers, he better just dig himself a spider hole. No body is gonna want to see him in their state.

It will be up to ALL OF US to keep fresh in the voters minds their local congress-people's complicity. Most will try to distance themselves from his miserable administration, but we must keep the pressure on.

The white blue collar and rural vote republican. They say because of abortion, but it's because they think civil rights have stolen from their children's futures. Republicans have been capitalizing on this for 20 years.
