Few Americans Expect bin Laden’s Capture in 2006
Many adults in the U.S. believe the leader of al-Qaeda will not be successfully detained this year, according to a poll by Gallup released by CNN and USA Today. 68 per cent of respondents believe it is unlikely that Osama bin Laden will be captured or killed.

Al-Qaeda operatives hijacked and crashed four airplanes in the United States on Sept. 11, 2001, killing nearly 3,000 people. The war on terrorism was initiated in October 2001 after Afghanistan’s Taliban regime refused to hand over bin Laden. Abu Musab al-Zarqawi—regarded as the network’s top commander in Iraq—has reportedly carried out several attacks and kidnappings.

Bin Laden has not been seen publicly since the start of the war on terrorism, appearing only in several purportedly authentic video and audiotapes.

In June 2005, Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director Porter Goss declared in an interview with Time that he has an "excellent idea" of where bin Laden is.

3. I'd say it depends on *'s poll numbers
Or impending impeachment. Either one could trigger a miraculous apprehension of OBL, with appropriate fanfare.

7. Interesting Poll
In order to increase our chances of finding Osama bin Laden might I suggest the CIA consult their World Fact Book. Afghanistan is the very first country listed with bin Laden ties so you cannot miss it. One does not have to be geography teacher to see that this country is North of Pakistan and East of Iran.

Iraq being geographically located west of Iran did not appear to have a background linked to bin Laden therefore we can deduce there is a greater chance for flawed intelligence during 2006.

Using resources such as this really could help reduce the federal deficit in the future.

One Smart Ass…
