Nine-Point Edge for Democrats in U.S.
June 23, 2006

(Angus Reid Global Scan) – The Democratic Party is holding on to the lead in the United States, according to a poll by Zogby International. 38 per cent of respondents would support the Democratic contender in their congressional district, while 29 per cent would vote for the Republican candidate.

Six per cent of respondents would vote for other candidates, and 28 per cent remain undecided. Support for the Democrats dropped by two points in two weeks, while backing for the Republicans remained stable.

God, guns and gays...the Repubs have a winning combination as long as the average voter remains as abysmally stupid as they are.

10. Zogby must be using Diebold polling machines
Or at least their software.

This doesn't smell right.

16. That two percent probably doesn't know what they want. They just know that
the cable outlets seem angry at Democrats since they are saying everything about them in a bad tone.

party will not get control of either the House or Senate. The Santorum WMD has Karl Roves finger prints on it, even though it was totally false it has been planted in peoples minds. Probably about 30% of the American people will remember hearing the statement and will take it as fact. The Cut and Run sound bite has made traction with a significant part of the public and the Democrats haven't responded to it. Today the MSM have done their best trying to build up N.Korea as a great threat to the US. It's just mind boggling that anybody in their right mind would think N.Korea is going to send a missile over here with a nuke on it, when we have 10's of thousands of them. Then today they come up with accusations that Iran is planting the IED's in Iraq. You can bet we are going to get weekly terror threats until the election, they may even bring back the color code. I hope the heck I am wrong.

9. "They're lying to you."
That's the message I'm giving my conservative Republican friends from now on. No arguments, no debates no discussion...just they're liars. The regular Republican's get it, but the dumb ones and the greedy ones don't.

Eventually they might get it if I just keep saying, "They're lying to you." I notice that a reasonable argument works with some of them for a day or two but for others it just gets their defenses up. I'm just going to say, "They're lying to you." Over and over again.

It will take the pain out of it for me and it might help them start to wonder why I believe that.

"They're lying to you."

It's something alot of people don't want to hear, but I seriously doubt we're going to get the House or the Senate in the fall. The American people are easily swayed and to easy to distract. The elected dems themselves won't play together for once, even during perhaps the most important election year in a century. I wouldn't be surprised if "something" happens between now and Fall and we actually lose seats. God, I'm pessimistic aren't I?

6. They will need at least a 5 point lead to even make a net gain of seats
As political scientist Gary Jacobson has noted, Democratic districts tend to be more lopsidedly Democratic than Republican districts are Republican. Republican districts are more efficiently draw up to benefit their party, while Democratic districts are packed into a lot of inner city boundaries.

7. dems must stop being afraid
we have to stand up to the bully repugs, who generally cry like babies when we fight back.

when we speak the truth and fight back, we will ultimately win.
