Man thinks peace-supporting car decals sparked vandalism
He says his car was spray-painted and lights were broken

Salem retiree Jim McCreary was stunned to find the word "traitor" spray-painted in black on both sides of his Toyota Corolla. His rearview mirrors, headlights and taillights were broken, and his tires were flattened. About $300 in damage was done, McCreary said. He thinks it was because of two magnetic peace decals on his car.

One decal looked similar to the magnetic yellow ribbons that say "Support our Troops." McCreary's was blue and said "Support Peace." The other decal resembled a dove and said "Advocate Peace."

"I was shocked and upset," he said Wednesday before going to have the paint professionally removed. "It's supposed to be a free country."

McCreary said he discovered the vandalism Sunday while on a weekend outing with friends in the Jefferson Wilderness Area. The Toyota had been parked since Friday at a trailhead near Marion Lake in Linn County.

This darling of a USO performer goes to Iraq regularly to perform "HIS SONG" for the troops as a morale booster. (It gets then fired up for their mission of killing Iraqis)

Country radio was saturated with it in 2002, Keith wrote it after 9/11. I actually played that song when I got hired to play keys in a pick-up band to back a country singer at the balloon festival in Battle Creek, MI in '02, July 4 at that. I was still a rightie at the time and liked it then...can't stand Toby Keith now. It was fun at the ending though, I made an explosion noise a la Keith Emerson by banging the end of my Hammond L-100 organ on the stage making the reverb crash. :D Only played two gigs with that singer, the second one is where I met my now-wife in person for the first time. :) I haven't played a country gig before or since....

I didn't become an Evil Librul Turncoat(tm) until '04...so cut me a little slack for prior indiscretions, please ;) hehehe

Well the state and first and last digits are obscured but I have seen and heard this before but I never knew what it was that could be done with a license plate # and an anonymous screen name? I am out in public every day with my plates. What makes it dangerous on the internet?
