Car bomber hits Iraqi labourers

At least 15 people have been killed and dozens wounded in a bomb attack on a crowd
of labourers in the southern Iraqi city of Kufa, police say.

A car bomber targeted the labourers as they gathered in the centre of the Shia shrine
city, officials said.

Policemen who arrived at the scene were pelted with stones by supporters of a radical
Shia cleric, a Reuters news agency witness said.

Police reportedly fired shots in the air to disperse the crowds.

2. The quagmire that is Iraq.
The corrupt Bush corporate cabal wants to get us into even bigger quagmires.

The Bush cabal serves war-profiteering corporations, not the People of the USA.

Car bomb in Iraq's Shi'ite Kufa kills 59

KUFA, Iraq, July 18 (Reuters) - A car bomb hit a group of labourers after they boarded a minibus in a market in a Shi'ite city in Iraq on Tuesday, killing 59 people and sparking clashes between protesters and police, witnesses and officials said.

The blast, some 50-100 metres from a Shi'ite shrine in the southern city of Kufa, tore through the minibus after it had pulled out of the crowded market.

Hospital and security sources said 132 people were wounded in the blast, which dealt a fresh blow to Shi'ite Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's efforts to promote national reconciliation.

Riyadh al-Shibni, a doctor in a Najaf health centre, said hospitals in Najaf and Kuf had received 59 bodies.

5. 59 dead people in the street. Can you even imagine having to face
that horrific site?

We don't even have a clue in this country. We here can't even really comprehend what the bush** administration has done to those people.

Why are we stuck in the middle of this quagmire?

Because we created it??

Not a good enough reason.
