10. I wonder that, as well, have for a long time!
Why is he still around?! He mislead this administration about Iraq, had contacts in Iran, withheld important evidence from the Americans, the list goes on. And I heard that he'd been picked up by Interpol, just before the election, but never heard anymore about it and then he reappeared back on the scene. I wonder, too...:-(

2. wha? Did he get a heart cath test?
that could mean he needs a pacemaker or (probably) first medication to control heart rhythm. Maybe not too serious, if he's lucky!

5. and again Talabani doctors and family deny he's in intensive care
AMMAN, Jordan - Iraqi President Jalal Talabani was in stable condition Monday, recuperating from exhaustion and lung inflammation at an Amman hospital, his personal physician and other officials said. The physician, Yedkar Hikmat, said rumors about a heart problem were "categorically wrong."

"This is not true at all, the president's case doesn't involve any heart problems. He did not suffer any heart attack. His heart is 100 percent good," Hikmat said.

Talabani, 73, fell ill Sunday and was unconscious when he was rushed to a hospital in Sulaimaniyah, his hometown in northeastern Iraq. He was then flown to neighboring Jordan later in the day for extensive examination.

Talabani's spokesman, Hiwa Osman, speaking from Baghdad, denied that the Iraqi president had been moved to intensive care, and said the president remained in a normal hospital room.

"He's very good. He's stable," Osman said.

6. If this was mere exhaustion
he wouldn't be in a freaking Jordanian hospital.

7. maybe he trusts the Jordanian's more than the Iraqi's when it comes to
medical care? I don't think we're getting the whole picture that is for sure. He's probably not in a hurry to come back after the attempted assination of the Shiite VP either.

8. In the Green Zone we have the finest medical teams in the region.
Why didn't he seek medical care there. Aren't our doctors good enough?

This story smells.

11. The important fact that came out of this is the lack of medical care in Iraq.
Things are definitely not good there and this certainly confirms it. :-(

Tue Feb 27, 7:36 AM ET

AMMAN, Jordan - Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, who remains hospitalized
in Jordan following his collapse over the weekend, was said to be recovering
well Tuesday but is apparently not ready to go home yet. "He's in good shape,
fully aware and doing well," said Saad al-Hayyani, Iraq's ambassador to Jordan.
"There are no tests planned today."

The envoy declined to say whether Talabani would be discharged from the King
Hussein Medical City in Amman soon so he can return to Iraq.

Al-Hayyani said Monday that Talabani had been suffering from exhaustion and
a mild lung inflammation.
