Iranian president blames U.S. and Israel for world's problems
KHARTOUM, Suda (AP) — Iran's president blamed the United States and Israel for the world's problems Thursday in a lecture to Sudanese officials and intellectuals during his visit to Sudan.

---

In his lecture titled "Iran and the World," the hardline president reiterated arguments that he has made repeatedly throughout the standoff with the United States and its Western allies over Iran's nuclear activities.

"There is no place in the world that suffers from divisions and wars unless America or the Zionists' fingerprints are seen there," Ahmadinejad told his audience in Farsi translated into Arabic.

He urged Muslims to rally behind Iran and accused detractors of Iran's nuclear program of trying to prevent a developing country from making scientific advances.

"Our strength and the cornerstone of the victory is in our (Muslims') unity ... we have to pay attention to the devils who want to cause divisions among us," the Iranian president said.

3. The chimp had his Axis of Evil. Here's something from Wikipedia ---
"Philosophers (and other users of logic) spend a lot of time and effort searching for and removing ambiguity in arguments, because it can lead to incorrect conclusions and can be used to deliberately conceal bad arguments. For example, a politician might say “I oppose taxes which hinder economic growth.” Some will think he opposes taxes in general because they hinder economic growth; others will think he opposes only those taxes that he believes will hinder economic growth (although in writing, the correct insertion or omission of a comma after “taxes” removes ambiguity here - in addition, for the latter meaning, “that” is properly used in place of “which”). The politician hopes that each will interpret the statement in the way he wants, and both will think the politician is on his side."

7. Is your life truly that simple, Simon?
And do you truly think that everyone else's is as well? I can find your talking points tucked under my wiper blades in slick little glossy brochures whenever I park at the mall on Sundays. Why aren't those kids in church?

i dont mind dying for a good cause like medieval fundamnentalism...but dying of acute myelogenous leukemia or thyromedullary carcinoma from radiation exposure seems like a tough way to go.

10. Let's speak again when your concerns are spelled in the fashion
that you employ. Iran is no threat to anybody who leaves her alone. To a country of corporate monogomy such as ours she's a speed bump in the road to a pipeline through the Caspian. If the Bush Shites would just admit that this thing is all about world energy being traded in dollars instead of euros there would be no arguments at home or abroad. Hell, I would climb aboard.

Research, research, it gives you credibility and enough ass to make a credible argument. Any argument made with one sentence echoing something found under one's wiper blade is likely to be credited to some troll with a slow sad life.

We are all, oxygen dependent carbon constructs that consist of nothing but pure awareness sharing this tiny blue marble speeding through space. Anything else is either pure ego or pure ignorance.

I await your rebuttal.

False quotes shake up terror trial

The mystery of how and why a government wiretap summary falsely attributed anti-Jewish slurs to officials of a Muslim charity remained unanswered Tuesday as federal prosecutors pledged to look into the matter.

In court papers filed late Monday, the U.S. attorney's office in Dallas said it was trying to determine how the recently declassified summary of a 1996 FBI wiretap of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development included vitriolic language that was not found in a verbatim transcript of a recorded conversation.

...

According to the discredited summary, Holy Land officials referred to Israel as "the government of the demons" and to Jews as trying "to rob as much money as possible from the American taxpayers for the illegitimate excuse of protecting and preserving the chosen people of God."

One Muslim charity official supposedly told a colleague: "Even Jesus Christ had called the Jews and their high priests … the sons of snakes and scorpions."

None of those comments was contained in a 13-page verbatim transcript of the conversation recorded April 15, 1996, by the FBI. In response, defense lawyers demanded declassification of large portions of the government's documents in the case.

LA Times

I am sure it's just translation problems -- the alternative is too sickening to contemplate.

11. You haven't died from chemical or biological weapons.
And Iran's had those for years.

So why all the bed wetting over Iran now? Is it their oil?

Sicknesses of the heart are the systemic cause of death,
and likely, however you die, or i die, they will want taxes
from us to pay for some bloody war somewhere.

17. In what way is this news? Doesn't Ahmadinejad always do this?
It seems like damn near all the footage shown around here that features Ahmadinejad has him ranting away about how toxic the US and Israel are. Is one more really news, or just grist for the anti-Iran propaganda mill?

If he started making nice with Israel, THAT would be news.

21. Conservatism
is the root of all evil. Conservatism flew those planes into those buildings. Besides an asteroid hit or other kind of natural calamity, conservatism remains the last obstacle that mankind must overcome to achieve our destiny as a species.
