"We keep hearing this is such an important alliance, but we've seen little value from it," said Marek Ostrowski, a leading foreign affairs commentator. "We're starting to feel this is a one-way street."

4. I heard somewhere that the BFEE got some "reconstruction" contracts
in Poland back in the 40's.

5. Bulgaria has made public its elation of US army bases moving there
Halliburton et al would be more than happy to oblige Poland in a similar fashion.

US Ambassador to Germany, Coates, is saying the transition will come, but will take time.

It's going to cost you big, American, and it will diminish/deplete our enlistment/reenlistments, not to mention wreak havoc on the health and welfare of our unaccompanied soldiers who will be stationed there.

7. They already got a nice arms deal
Poland is buying US fighter planes (very much to the dismay to EU producers), getting very favourable pay terms and some big factories in return.

Before Poland announced it's support in Iraq, some oil deals were prepared. Polands foreign minister publicly declared they hoped to get a good share of Iraqi oil for the support.

They are just more honest than the rest of the coalition by publicly admitting they are in for war spoils.

9. US troops in Germany pack up
and move to Poland?

Schroeder will work hard to see that does not happen. Too much domestic fallout for him due to economic impact to areas that serve bases.

10. You would have thought fucking Poland would know better by now
If i remember rightly they had rather a squalid walkon part in the dismemberment of Checkeslovakia before WWII, and all that happened was they were invaded next.

Okie Dookie.

12. You gotta deduce
that some people like being walked over.

Humiliated and slowly dismembered until nothing was left by Russia, Austia/Hungary, and Prussia in the 18th and 19th century. Brought back into existance so they can throw themselves at Hitler's feet. Ruled over by the Russians again for 40 years.

10 years of standing on their own two feet, but now a big hunky facist prick comes along and it's "Oh my God he makes feel all goey inside, I want to get down on my knees and give him the best blow job he's ever had".

13. I don think the Poles would turn to the US as much
if France and Germany would not try to screw them over so much in the EU.
