Worshipping at Fort Hood, Texas, Bush Reflects on Sacrifice of Soldiers at Easter Service

By BEN FELLER, Associated Press Writer

FORT HOOD, Texas (Associated Press) -- President Bush, worshipping at an Army post, prayed for peace Sunday in an Easter service about avoiding the forces of sin and doing what is right.

"I had a chance to reflect on the great sacrifice that our military and their families are making," Bush said outside the chapel at Fort Hood after the service. "I prayed for their safety, I prayed for their strength and comfort, and I pray for peace."

Bush took no questions from reporters in his first public appearance since his spring break in Texas began on Wednesday. He was joined by first lady Laura Bush, her mother and his parents.

For the fourth time in five years, Bush flew 50 miles southwest from his ranch in Crawford to spend Easter morning at this sprawling Army post that has sent thousands of soldiers to the war in Iraq.

12. Only through his Spring Break vacation. That man loves
war, but only if someone else has to do the fighting.

4. "spring break"... in context an interesting play on words.
He remains the frat boy.

In all seriousness, though, I find his continuing use of military bases for fly in photo ops tacky at best, disturbing given the history of his administration and a sham.

A pleading to the god of ungodly wealth.

"I had a chance to reflect on the great sacrifice that our military and their families are making." --George Bush

Too much happening in his busy day to think much about it? Had to grab a chance to think about it on Easter Sunday--to "reflect" on the slaughter of US soldiers and Iraqis, to the golden idol, and check his foreign bank balances, and plan some more of that great sacrifice thing?

Ah, me!

14. The most prominent figures in the photo tell us all we need to
know about George. There is George W. and Mommy. In the background with his eyes closed is George H.W. We got Mama's boy Georgie in the White House. Any doubt about who the influence and the enforcer is in the Bush Clan?

17. How ironic
The same base where Wiccans trying to worship in their forms and in a fashion of their choosing, APPROVED BY THE ARMY, were picketed by outside fundies who called them baby-eaters and Bush, while he was still governor of Texas, said that "Witchcraft is not a religion. I think the Army should rethink their position on this issue."

21. This guy is not even IN his own body
I always marvel at the way he walks.. it's like he doesn't even KNOW WHERE his hands are, or what they are doing, no connection to anything really.. most animals have more grace, seen more grace in a ground hog..

He'll be a Roach in HELL for a Trillion years and more, fucking LIAR. If only he could actually FEEL their pain for just a day, thousands of lives screaming in his head as they suffer, that's what I want to see, for him to FEEL SOMETHING.

Plus he's always walking around like he's carrying Six Shooters, Mr Quick Draw.. loser.

Keep 'preying' Bush, we know where your heart is, that little black strip is sitting in a bunker somewhere, along side of Cheney's nearly invisible one.

22. Bush has no idea what sacrifice is. He's a spoiled, stubborn, rich kid
who somehow thinks he's going to go down in history as a great president. He should be known as the first president convicted of war crimes. I'm sick of looking at his ugly puss in his staged photo ops that inevitably exploit soldiers.
