A Look at U.S. Military Deaths in Iraq-463 U.S. service members have died

As of Monday, Dec. 22, 463 U.S. service members have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq (news - web sites), according to the Department of Defense (news - web sites). Of those, 317 died as a result of hostile action and 146 died of non-hostile causes, the department said. snip

On or since May 1, when President Bush (news - web sites) declared that major combat operations in Iraq had ended, 325 U.S. soldiers have died — 202 as a result of hostile action and 123 of non-hostile causes, according to the Defense Department's figures.

3. Bogus numbers
Just look how many wounded are there in Bethesda and Walter Reed and you'll get the picture that the casualties are being underreported big time.

6. Better add two
the count should stand at 465 at a minimum. There was a report weeks ago now, of a soldier diving into a river to rescue another. I've never learned how that turned out, initially he was listed as missing. If he has never been found then make that number 466, what is the shame these deaths are screamed loudly from every news channel and paper in the land, especially now since they've got their hands on Saddam, wars over ya'll can go on home now...right?
