JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) - A powerful bomb ripped through a crowded New Year's Eve celebration in Indonesia's restive Aceh province, killing nine people, including two young boys, and injuring 46 others, a doctor and other witnesses said on Thursday.

The bomb, apparently placed under a stage where musicians were playing, went off three hours before midnight at a market in the remote eastern town of Pereulak, said Omar Rusdi, a physician who treated the dead and injured.

Many of the victims were teenagers, including a one-year-old and a seven year old boy, he said.
