BOSTON (Reuters) - Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the sister
of assassinated President John F. Kennedy and a tireless
champion of the rights of the mentally disabled, is being
treated for an undetermined illness at a Boston hospital
and is in fair condition, a spokeswoman said on Saturday.

Shriver, 86, was admitted to Massachusetts General
Hospital on November 18, said hospital spokeswoman
Emily Parker, who declined to give any details about
Shriver's illness.

According to media reports, Shriver had suffered a series

3. Never ceases to amaze me
how time flies. I think of her big brother Jack as that handsome young president - never to age. He would have been 90...

11. I was thinking those sae thoughts today when we watcherd Ted Sorrington on C-SPAN
who was Kennedy's political adviser and speech writer. I thought Ted looked pretty good for 86 and was thinking Jack would probably be around his age and I felt sad to think of what he missed in life what we missed, and what the world missed. He and Jackie were so good for out world image and we could certainly use them now.

8. She's 5 years older than brother Bobby would have been. I never knew that.

Thought she wasn't even 80. She's at an age where multiple illnesses can be fatal. Best wishes to her and her loved ones.

13. Had to take Eunice home one Sunday after mass at St. Edwards.

We were parked behind Green's Pharmacy on N. County Road, she turned the key and nothing. I offered to take her home (they were wintering down the road then). She was so concerned about putting me out of my way, etc. She knew me to wave to but obviously we didn't know each other. She's a very down to earth person, very friendly. Thanked me profusely and said more than once, "thank God Mother isn't here." I laughed all the way home. Very nice person, my thoughts and prayers will be with her.

14. I have a friend who used to communicate with her regularly
regarding her (my friend's) mentally-challenged daughter years ago. My friend showed me some of her response letters, and they were always very hope-inspiring and gracious.

If this is not her time, I hope her recovery will be immediate.

She is a very wonderful human being.

15. I watched her the other day on C-SPAN during a tribute to her.
Still looking good, and very well spoken. She made me cry a little. She said there is nothing better than family, and if you don't have one, go find one. Hope she bounces back.
