Heath Ledger autopsy inconclusive
Source: Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) - Six different types of prescription drugs were found in Heath Ledger's apartment - including anti-anxiety medications and sleeping pills - though the cause of his death won't be known for several days after a preliminary autopsy Wednesday was inconclusive, authorities said.

A rolled-up $20 bill was also found on the floor near the Australian actor's bed, but lab tests detected no traces of drug residue. Police also said no illegal drugs were found in the apartment.

Among the prescription medications found were pills to treat insomnia and anxiety, and an antihistamine, according to two law enforcement officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing. Three of the drugs were prescribed in Europe, the sources said.

The $20 bill was found on the floor neare Ledger's bed, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said lab tests found nothing to indicate it had been used to snort drugs.

So many artists check out early ~ I think it's partly because they're too sensitive for this world.

3. I think this news article helps cure the suicide and drugs addict opinions.
It appears to be accidental so far and no drugs except perscription were found in his apt.

4. In case anyone was wondering...
This is pretty standard. Tests, particularly on the eye fluid, which are standard for possible ODs, take about a week to run. They can be rushed in about 5 days, but that would probably only be done if foul play was suspected.

It's so terrible that the family has to undergo this extended ordeal on top of losing a loved one.

6. Five Different Drugs Found in Heath's Apartment
Posted Jan 23rd 2008 8:35PM by TMZ Staff

TMZ has learned what types of pills were discovered in the apartment where Heath Ledger was found dead.

NYPD sources tell TMZ that nearly full pill bottles containing the anti-anxiety medications Alprazolam (Xanax), Diazepam (Valium), Lorazepam (Ativan) were found in the apartment. The sleeping medication Zoplicone (Lunesta) and the sedative Temazepam (Restoril) -- which is used by people with "debilitating insomnia" -- were also found.

All of the drugs were prescribed to Ledger.

8. My mother very nearly killed herself on Dec 30 with these same drugs
or at least some of them (ativan and xanax, some antidepressants, and wine). She was (is) upset by the recent death of my grandmother and wasn't trying to kill herself, but trying to dull some of the pain and went way overboard.

Very luckily, she called the doc and my brother got to her to the hospital in *barely* enough time. Whatever she took, the effects landed her in the ICU for a couple of days.

I can't help but wonder if this is what happened to Heath.

9. These are the drugs our docs are so willing to prescribe for a toe ache.
Bet half of America has some of these drugs in their cabinet.
I'm surprised we don't hear more stories. Maybe it happens but
they're just not celebrities. And he was so young. Sigh
