The man who says he's JFK's son
Source: Globe and Mail (Toronto)

The man at the centre of a John F. Kennedy mystery is revealing new details, including his name and his birthday – an astonishing date should he indeed be related to the Kennedy clan.

Jack Worthington also agreed to allow The Globe and Mail to take his photograph, but only after his name was revealed by a Vancouver publication. He had been speaking with The Globe over the past few days on condition of anonymity.

The British Columbia man is asking the Kennedys to provide a DNA sample so tests can be run to determine whether there is a match with the 35th president of the United States.

President Kennedy was assassinated on Nov. 22, 1963 – Mr. Worthington's second birthday. He presented a U.S. passport, Canadian visitor's visa and driver's licence indicating his date of birth.

According to the story the Globe has the only photo. It is a remarkable likeness, although that proves exactly nothing.

8. I know what the Globe and Mail is.
I can't say for sure (since I didn't see the article) but, my guess is it wasn't on the front page. It's "gossip shit" pure and simple. Fascinating, maybe, but on my list of priorities it comes in somewhere between brushing my teeth or taking my morning shit.

30. I think he looks a lot more like Ted than John too
Both Ted and John had lots of sexual encounters. There may be a child out there.

But if the story is true, then, of course, Fox news will play it up for all its worth. They will use the story to try to tarnish Obama because of Ted's endorsement OR to try to tarnish Hillary because of Bobby Kennedy's children's endorsements.

However, I think the Dems can survive this story even it is true. I just don't think Kennedy sexual drama is the news it once was. And the Kennedys aren't the contenders. Bill gets treated badly by the MSM because of Monica, but Bill and Hillary and Chelsea got treated badly even before Monica. Ridiculing the Clintons has always been Politically Correct. The Post ran a story about Chelsea's "fat legs" when Chelsea was 12 years old!!

50. The Lindbergh baby!
When my father worked for a New Jersey newspaper many years ago a man claiming to be the kidnapped Lindbergh baby would periodically show up to talk to a member of the press. My dad got nominated to talk to him. Dad always said the guy gave him the creeps. Said there was something missing in his eyes that made him very uncomfortable. Poor man was obviously delusional ( the L baby, not dad).
Haven't thought about this in a very long time but your post brought it back.

47. If true, I think it's great.
Wouldn't make a difference in my life, but I'm thinking it would in Caroline Kennedy's. For most everyone on DU to hold Caroline Kennedy in such high regard, I'd think more people would be hoping for this to be true, for her. I believe if I had lost both my brothers and my parents, I'd be happy beyond words to find I out it was true.

I don't see where this couldn't be possible. It's clear in reading the entire article, Vanity Fair has been working on this for 18 months. This story got out ahead of them. Our news is all over this, trying to get information as of yesterday. His identity was found out and they went looking for this guy, not the other way around. He only agreed to the interview once his name was leaked. He offered his own DNA and signed whatever legal papers they wanted him to; to give release of any financial claims.

I don't know anymore than other's do here as to what the truth is. My claiming, "oh this is true" equals the same as someone saying "this is not true". No one knows. It's all a matter of DNA, and I'm looking forward to finding out the truth.

I HOPE he is his son and somehow finds acceptance and even love from Caroline and others. That would be one great thing to happen when a whole load of shit is raining down on this world. Come to think about it again, maybe it would make a tiny difference in my life if it were true. It would be good news and I'd like that.

49. a little sunshine
3 weeks after my father died, I found out I had a 40 year old brother. I thought it was wonderful.
Of course my father's timing was pretty bad, he was about to marry his 3rd and last wife when this new brother was conceived. This new information disenchanted some of the family, but I didn't care; here was a walking talking son of my father and he is a good man (the son) what more could a person ask for!
My father always knew about him (and paid child support) but we kids never knew.

48. "I really enjoy my life. I'm really enjoying my life as it is here in B.C.”
Welcome to Mr. Worthington. Personally it doesn't matter to me whether he is actually a Kennedy or not ... I hope he continues to like it up here, and decides to stay. As long as he doesn't edge me out of the lineup for the last ferry, that is -- in which case, game on, pal!

Re: the Globe and Mail story, I'd seen it a bit earlier but decided not to comment until they had more information. Mr. Worthington's mother doesn't seem eager to discuss the matter, and I hope that her privacy is respected. As well as the other Kennedy family members (what earlier posters mentioned re: Caroline, it's bound to be a rather emotional time for her and her relatives).

"VANCOUVER -- The Vancouver news media was in a tizzy yesterday, searching for a tall man in his late 40s named Jack, after reports surfaced that U.S. President John F. Kennedy had fathered a child who was living in Vancouver.

The New York Post reported that Vanity Fair magazine had been pursuing the story for more than a year, but had dropped it recently after contact with Senator Ted Kennedy, JFK's brother.

The Post said Vanity Fair had tracked down a tall man in his late 40s named Jack who bears a striking resemblance to JFK - and lives in Vancouver. The Post said the man's mother, who had been introduced to JFK by then-vice-president Lyndon Johnson, slammed the door when the magazine appeared at her home. Calls to Vanity Fair and the senator's office were not returned yesterday."

It is possible. He may not know for sure himself. Whether or not someone gives him their dna to test against I think should depend on the information he can provide on why he would believe he's JFK's son.

60. I have a strong suspicion that Uncle Edward already knew.....
about this guy's existence. Maybe other members of the family as well. It's probably no surprise to them. If John was the father, he would have obviously found out about the birth and revealed the info to his closest family members. They all would have kept it under wraps and let the secret go on.
As to why Jack is coming out now with this info now is anyone's guess.
I wouldn't doubt he is legitimately JFK's son. He doesn't appear to be some psycho head case by all appearances.
He has an established career and a pretty normal life.
I guess there was always some scandal or story revolving around a Kennedy for so many years, that he couldn't compete with all that.
Now was the best time to come forward.
Actually, I would think that Caroline would probably be comforted in knowing that she isn't the last of that nuclear family. She has a half brother out there possibly who shares that bond.
