John Bolton: US should bomb Iranian camps
Source: teleg

Mr Bolton said that striking Iran would represent a major step towards victory in Iraq. While he acknowledged that the risk of a hostile Iranian response harming American’s overseas interests existed, he said the damage inflicted by Tehran would be “far higher” if Washington took no action.

“This is a case where the use of military force against a training camp to show the Iranians we’re not going to tolerate this is really the most prudent thing to do,” he said. “Then the ball would be in Iran’s court to draw the appropriate lesson to stop harming our troops.”

Mr Bolton, an influential former member of President George W Bush’s inner circle, dismissed as “dead wrong” reported British intelligence conclusions that the US military had overstated the support that Iran was providing to Iraqi fighters.

2. Jingoism is the Neocons only offering.
Sadly calls for aggressive war, recognized as a major war crime after WWII, are so common the nation doesn't even flinch at their sound.

3. Everytime I hear Bolton's name 2 images come to mind. One funny. The other...not at all.

There's no such thing as the United Nations. If the U.N. secretary building in New York lost 10 stories, it wouldn't make a bit of difference.
John Bolton

8. the arrogance of this wicked regime we have is now
placing the blame on Iran for the fiasco in Afghanistan now, I am not kidding here. Read this and do this:

:puke: We have some very unstable sick US officials don't we????? Desperate men do desperate things.

http://rawstory.com/news/afp/Iran_seeking_to_keep_Afghanistan_un_05062008.html

Iran is seeking to keep Afghanistan weak and unstable, delivering arms to the Taliban whilst ostensibly supporting Kabul's government, a senior US state department official said in Paris Tuesday.

"They (Iran) interfere in a variety of different ways, perhaps not as violently as they do sometimes in Iraq," Richard Boucher, assistant secretary of state for south and central Asia, told reporters at a press conference.

"But what we see is Iranian interference politically, Iranian interference in terms of the money that they channel into the political process, Iranian interference in terms of playing off local officials against central government, trying to undermine the state in that way."

12. The really sad thing is that no matter how bat-shit crazy the comment ...
> "This is a case where the use of military force against a training camp
> to show the Iranians we’re not going to tolerate this is really the most
> prudent thing to do,"

... there will be at least 25% of the US public (and probably much more than
half of the US government) that agrees with it.

:nuke:

17. And what are we going to do when Iran responds?
Edited on Wed May-07-08 10:34 AM by butlerd
Which they most certainly will and if Bush et. al believe that Iran is "interfering" with our occupation of Iraq NOW then I imagine that Iran will REALLY "interfere" with us AFTER we start bombing them.

A vision of hornet nests being struck (and the resulting consequences) comes to mind...........and we all know (I think) what our parents told us about doing something like that.
