Ex-manager says OJ Simpson confessed
Source: AP exclusive

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A memorabilia dealer who profited from O.J. Simpson for many years is the latest former crony to write a tell-all book, this one alleging a groggy Simpson, high on marijuana, confessed to killing his ex-wife after he was acquitted.

Mike Gilbert also claims he helped his former friend wiggle out of the murder charges by suggesting how to bloat his hands so they wouldn't fit the notorious bloody gloves.

Gilbert's book, "How I Helped O.J. Get Away With Murder: The Shocking Inside Story of Violence, Loyalty, Regret and Remorse" (Regnery Publishing, 232 pages, $27.95), is due in stores Monday. It was released to The Associated Press in advance.

He said Simpson had smoked pot, took a sleeping pill and was drinking beer when he confided at his Brentwood home weeks after his trial what happened the night of June 12, 1994. Simpson said he went to his ex-wife's condominium, but did not bring a knife with him. Simpson told him Nicole Brown Simpson had one in her hand when she opened the door.

In a soft mumble, Simpson told him: "If she hadn't opened that door with a knife in her hand ... she'd still be alive."

"Nothing more needed to be said," Gilbert writes. "O.J. had confessed to me. There's no doubt in my mind."

36. Oh please
Really, who cares what this scumbag has to say. Maybe the families of the victims, but they already believe that he is guilty, so even if this guy is lying, he will make money off of this crappy book because of the new case against O.J.

I don't believe there's such a thing.

That being said, even though I think OJ probably did it. I don't however agree that OJ confessed to this guy.

We don't allow double jeopardy in the U.S. He can't be tried again. For other charges the statute of limitations has run.

20. Prime suspect should have always been Jason Simpson
http://www.mattbaron.com/resources/go_figure/aug2001.html

A private investigator shared insights he had developed over a career that spanned over 30 years at that time. He was none other than William C. Dear...Dear unearthed information that had eluded both police and media and which point strongly to Jason Simpson, O.J.'s son from his first marriage, as a suspect in the murders.

Dear's theory is that Jason, upset that Nicole had not dined at the restaurant where he was chef earlier in the night, confronted her and went into a violent rage, much as he is alleged to have done with former girlfriends.

Jason, who supposedly had an airtight alibi, refused to cooperate with police and therefore was never questioned. Dear found the alibi was riddled with holes, and dug into Jason's violent, suicidal past that includes Dr. Jekyll-and-Mr. Hyde behavior clinically known as Intermittent Rage Disorder.

Sadly, the tunnel vision adopted by police and much of the media remained in evidence at the latest IRE conference, where many reporters greeted Dear's book in ho-hum fashion. Dear's staff brought 360 books, fully prepared to give them all away but expecting to pass out perhaps 150.

Numerous reporters gave them the cold shoulder, and Dear returned to Texas only 60 book copies lighter.

Dear has furnished the California Attorney General's Office with all of his investigative findings. Whether his work results in a break in the case remains unclear. But there is no doubt that he has taught something valuable to those who wish to avoid falling prey to the perils of paradigm paralysis.

"Never assume," he states at the book's outset. "Always verify."

18. I'm not a pot smoker, but won't that combo kill you?
I'm hardly convinced this asshole heard OJ's confession this way.
As I understand it, a sleeping pill, AND Alcohol does very unpleasant things to you. Ass a natural downer like pot... and wouldn't that just stop your heart dead? To relaxed and all that.

Lets put aside the scum publication for a moment, and look at the condition OJ was supposed to be in when he said it.
imho, it was probably more like over a few beers and pizza, very loud and happy, years ago.

the beer and pretty much ANY prescription medication is dangerous. Even getting drunk while on anti-biotics can get you not only sick, but could kill depending on the amount.

You could pretty much mix pot with anything and be fine.(not that the *anything* else couldn't hurt you) Just don't smoke it when really drunk - cause you will puke your guts out.

Cheers

Great, more attention on yet more vile black men to scare Americans into voting for McCain.

Soon it'll be time to drag out Tommie Smith and John Carlos, two great Americans that unfortunately are not seen as great Americans.

Disgusting book.

OJ isn't a very nice guy but thats not against the law last I checked.

If I recall OJ was acquitted of murder so I'm not sure what you think I'm excusing him of.

Is being a big scary black man a crime now? If it is let me know so I can stop lifting weights out in the prison yard.

29. Thats a long stretch
try this one;

Dems angry over inflammatory views of black GOP magazine

For a sign of Florida Republicans' all-out effort to attract black voters, look no farther than the glossy full-colored The Black Republican magazine that launches broadsides like these:

The KKK was the ''terrorist arm of the Democratic Party.'' Democrats, in addition to waging ''war on God,'' are still mired in sex and financial scandals.

35. No, I'm not

Anybody that knows anything about AA black history knows that OJ and Smith/Carlos are as different as can be.

They are two of my heroes and if you misunderstood me then I didn't write it very well.

I guess what I meant to say was this, Smith and Carlos were vilified for their single non-violent act at the 68' Olympics. While I wasn't alive at the time, my parents have spoken many times about how they were misunderstood and presented by the white press as violent black power thugs. My parents always said they were brave not disgraceful.

While OJ is nowhere near the stature and character of Smith/Carlos he was in fact found innocent of killing his ex-wife. This pathetic book, is in my opinion, is just another way to tear down AA men in this country.

44. I appreciate your clarification about Smith and Carlos...
...who I've always admired.

OJ is, to my mind, a very troubled man. I'll leave it at that. I personally think that the book that's coming out has less to do with tearing down African-American men than it has to do with reaping a profit from the media obsession with fame, celebrity, and violence. This is a sickness that transcends race. There is the presumption on the part of the book's publishers, I assume, that many people will buy the book. That's truly sad.

Anyone who is familiar with the breed KNOWS that
the murderer was known to the dog.
No one else could have gotten past the dog.
It's really that simple.
The Akita breed is fiercely protective of it's pack/family.
