China hopes "right person" wins Nobel Peace Prize
Source: Reuters

BEIJING (Reuters) - China said on Wednesday it hoped the Nobel Peace Prize, due to be announced on Friday, will go to the "right person" after a Chinese dissident had been mentioned as a potential winner.

China warned last month that it would not be happy if a Chinese dissident won this year's prize, as suggested by two prominent Norwegians.

It is 19 years since Tibet's exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, won the only award linked to China in the 107-year history of the prize.

(snip)

The Nobel prizes were created in the 1895 will of the Swedish philanthropist and inventor. Those tipped by experts and bookmakers to win the peace prize include Chinese dissident Hu Jia and Zimbabwe's Prime Minister-designate Morgan Tsvangirai.

I didn't know bookies actually took bets on the Nobel Peace Prize! Funny and sad at the same time.

China can go pound sand, I hope Hu Jia wins.

3. Somehow I think the freepturds are going to be disappointed
that the "surge" didn't kick Bush over the top in the voting ...

Maybe McCain's rendition of "Bomb Iran" will warm the committee's hearts ...

4. The Nobel Peace Prize lost its value the day it was awarded to a crook like Kissinger
(That's not to say it hasn't been awarded to worthy people occasionally, though.)
They're thinking of awarding it to Morgan Tsvangirai? Ridiculous.

6. I Hope Hu Jia Wins. Why is the Peoples Republic of China So Tyrannical.
Imagine How Great The World Would Be If The Chinese Communist Party Ended Its Dictatorial Control Over The Peoples Republic of China, and If China Became either a True Democracy, a Democratic Republic, or a Pairlementarian Government. May the Rule of the Tyrants End Throughout The World.
