Media Mayhem in Malvern
Reporters camp outside home of woman believed key to Kerry rumors

A global media scrum descended on the Chester County suburb of Malvern yesterday because of a furor over a rumored romantic link between a 1995 Great Valley High School grad and presidential hopeful John Kerry.

Despite the frenzy, little information was forthcoming yesterday, and there was no confirmation of any relationship between Kerry and the woman.

Several news trucks and assorted gawkers loitered outside the home of the parents of 27-year-old Alexandra Polier after her dad was quoted in a British tabloid that Kerry was "a sleazeball" who'd shown an interest in his daughter.

Polier, who was a cross-country star in high school and who has worked as a reporter for the Associated Press, is said to be on an assignment in Kenya, half a world away from the furor touched off by an article on the popular Web site the Drudge Report.

1. "The media are the story"

Great way to spread the rumor and keep it in the news:
pretend the story is about the media

I'm not a Kerry fan, but this is disgusting.

2. Well at least we know where they'll come from
The R's must think the same exact plan they used to trash Clinton is a one size fits all.

If it turns out Kerry has a zipper problem we're screwed. I hope it's not true.

3. Could be advantage if NO zipper problem. Use this as an example to
invalidate future attacks as not being creditworthy and believable.

I don't think dems should leave this one alone but use it offensively and consistently. Not to mention maybe Teresa Heinz Kerry should publicly tell repubs to mind their own god damned business when it comes to her marriage.

This is an election, not Entertainment Tonight.

4. Why Are We Screwed?
1. Kerry's not even the second best candidate Dems have for the presidency.

2. We KNOW this guy is a serious insider already. To discover that he may have serious character flaws only comes as a shock to those forever naive.

5. Kerry is gonna screw this up
Kerry doesn't look like a ladies man. I wonder if Bush has ever had an affair. I can't imagine the horror in seeing Laura naked every night.

6. Could I get my Post number reduced?
So I could pile on Kerry? Jeesh.

Kerry has one problem -- those beset on undermining him. Enemies here and there will see fit to imagine monsters from mouse tracks.

8. I would give a lot of cash to hear a report say...
"It would seem that the GOP is very afraid of Mr. Kerry. The accusations of an affair with an intern are reminiscent of Bill Clinton...an image they would love to attach to the war hero Kerry. In this case, however, there is little more than rumor from right wing pundits to go on. Back to you Tom."

9. If the worst Kerry can do
Is to appear Clinton-esque, he'll blow the pants off Jun-yah.
