Blagojevich Impeachment Inquiry Stalls.
Source: NYT

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — A committee of the Illinois House considering evidence and testimony in an impeachment inquiry against Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich adjourned its first day of hearings after about an hour on Tuesday, after the governor’s lawyer and the federal prosecutor seeking to indict him both expressed concerns. . .

The confusion over the committee’s procedures and plans was the latest indication that many questions remained as to how state lawmakers will pursue impeachment. No Illinois governor has ever been impeached, and the state constitution gives little direction. As a result, many lawmakers here were wrestling with the dimensions of what the committee would be trying to prove and how its work might clash with criminal proceedings by federal prosecutors."

1. AND the press is thrilled. Anything to keep the people occupied and not looking
at what really concerns the country.

2. Good. This has been one big all time motherfucking rush to justice
led by a Tom Hanks wannabe prosecutor still smarting about Libby & Cheney. I hope the whole fucking thing collapses around that sanctimonious asshole. He grandstanded
the motherfucker instead of taking it to the grand jury where it belonged because he doesn't have a fucking case.

3. I agree with part of your post...
Fitz screwed up I think in how he reported it the first day. Big time and hopefully he won't have screwed it permanently.

In the meantime, the state can't get just regular business done. We have a pending billion dollar bond that is waiting for someone to sign off on and for some reason, those bonding us don't feel too cozy with Blago signing off on it. There is a procedure available thru our state supremes that may be able to transfer power temporarily to our Lt. Governor until our congress critters can find their way.

Blagojevich is really not right in his head sorry to say.

4. Nobody in this country should be treated the way Blagojevich
has been treated about this. It's a Salem pitchfork free-for-all, with all the supposedly social minded liberals joining in like a bunch of idiots.
