Court rejects Coleman bid to consider rejected absentee ballots

The ruling appears to clear the way for the State Canvassing Board this afternoon to certify a winner of the Senate election recount, presumably Democrat Al Franken.

The Minnesota Supreme Court today rejected a bid by Norm Coleman in the disputed U.S. Senate election to consider counting hundreds of rejected absentee ballots from mostly Republican-leaning areas.

The court did not issue an opinion on Republican Coleman's claim that the ballots may have been wrongly rejected, saying he can press a court contest if he wants to prove his point.

The ruling this morning appears to clear the way for the State Canvassing Board this afternoon to certify a winner of the Senate election recount, presumably Democrat Al Franken, who holds an unofficial 225-vote lead.

4. Good decision
The time to deal with those absentee ballots was before the deadline, as was done with the rest of the wrongfully rejected ones.

Normy will continue to try court challenges, but I'm thinking that the SCOMN is going to reject those challenges. The Coleman camp has been heard from before the deadline. It's too late, now.

Suck it up, Normy.

Coleman was too busy trying to reject ballots to attempt to include ballots.

That said, Coleman cherry picked these from Republican areas. All of Franken's were done statewide.

16. wait ... I know this ... it reminds me of something ... um ... hold on ... GOT IT!
Wasn't there something in November 2000 about how there's a bunch of STOOOPID PEOPLE whose votes shouldn't count because they're too stupid to fill out a ballot correctly?

Granted that I did not back Al in the caucuses or at the state convention, but I did vote for him over Coleman and am much happier now that Norm is on his way out.

that hunched over position with her hands clutched between her legs looks ridiculous, not sexy.

22. Get Lost, Coleman
Welcome to the Washington, Senator Franken.

Dick Morris is already trying to say that Franken stole it. If ya gotta give Faux News anything, at least they are trying to carry the water. I'm thinking BillO's response to this is going to keep Keith Olbermann talking for a while. :D
