Early returns show little support for budget propositions (CA)

In a breathtaking rebuke to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and legislative leaders, Californians were dismissing a package of special-election ballot measures that the officials said were critical to the state's solvency but triggered anger and indifference among voters.

The sole state proposition winning as returns mounted tonight was another repudiation of elected officials -- a measure that would ban pay hikes for legislators and state officeholders when the state is running a deficit.

In local contests, a brawling race for city attorney ended with former Deputy Dist. Atty. Carmen "Nuch" Trutanich holding a slight lead over City Councilman Jack Weiss.

1. California State Government is corrupt and rotten to the core...
Dinos = Repukes = Corporatism.
The way Californians are taxed is a joke.
Poor folks throw money down a lottery gaming rat hole and wealthy grandfathered land owners pay almost no property taxes. Start with repealing Proposition 13. It will never happen as long as the above truism is in effect. Therefore, the state deserves to go broke.
