2. they were mistaken
They meant to say that it was Saddam's bodyguard's cousin's next-door-neighbor's sister's aunt's best friend's husband.

4. Well, color me surprised as all get out!
I kept hearing about the capture of Saddam's bodyguards all weekend, and the endless speculation that now, by golly, you'd better believe, boy, that there was no doubt, you betcha, that Saddam would soon be in custody. Yesiree bob, no question there.

Okay, that was Sunday. On Tuesday, we hear, "Uh, well . . . gee, ya know, it sure seemed like . . . aw, nevermind."

5. The sad thing is that nobody will catch this info
Americans will not hear that the US made a mistake, they will just remember that "SADDAM'S BODYGUARD CAUGHT!"

They won't see on page B-46 "oops, no bodyguard. sorry."

12. CIA agents try to infiltrate?
The only logic I can see to it, is that they don't want the enemy to know who they got. I don't know!

14. Because they don't want us to see...
Women and children being kidnapped on tv!!!

A snip from yesterday's WAPO:

Col. David Hogg, commander of the 2nd Brigade of the 4th Infantry Division, said tougher methods are being used to gather the intelligence. On Wednesday night, he said, his troops picked up the wife and daughter of an Iraqi lieutenant general. They left a note: "If you want your family released, turn yourself in." Such tactics are justified, he said, because, "It's an intelligence operation with detainees, and these people have info." They would have been released in due course, he added later.

The tactic worked. On Friday, Hogg said, the lieutenant general appeared at the front gate of the U.S. base and surrendered.

9. I wonder if they were actually to catch saddam...
I wonder if them actually catching saddam would leave the way clear for the shiites to start openly rebelling (since he definitely wouldn't be coming back, then) and just serve to piss off those still loyal to him.

Of course, they'd probably totally botch up the proving of it.

20. Foreign media comes through again
BTW, it really pisses off news organizations if you offhandedly ask them:

"So how much is it"

"how much is what?"

"how much it the White House paying you guys?"
