Sunday morning is time to fall back an hour
Source: Las Vegas Sun

Sat, Oct 31, 2009 (2:10 a.m.)
Most of the United States, including Las Vegas, will gain an hour at 2 a.m. Sunday by turning back clocks to standard time.
When daylight saving time began at 2 a.m. on March 8, clocks sprang forward one hour.
Why change time at 2 a.m.? When daylight saving time began in Great Britain and then the United States in the 19th century, early morning was a perfect time with less disruption to the railroads.
Benjamin Franklin proposed daylight saving time as an American delegate in Paris in 1784. The idea caught on to standardize time in London in 1840, proposed by the railroads there. The United States followed on Nov. 18, 1883, again led by the railroads.

4. We should stay on daylight savings time.
Adjust schools so they are 9 to 5 or 4.

7. I'm glad I live in a state that doesn't change the clocks.
It works out perfectly here in AZ. I wish the rest of the country would just drop the time changes.

10. We need to go back to the old schedule or scrap it altogether
This idiocy was based on a time before electricity and then was faultily applied when electric lights were prevalent. The nonsense also doesn't take latitude into account and how the day-lengths vary at different latitudes along a given longitude. With this "pilot" change on-going, we're only in "Standard Time" for about 4 months and on DST for the other 8.

What "daylight" does one save when one lives on or near the equator? :eyes:

11. I rarely use the s-word, but DST is pure superstition
it probably came about because a relentless huckster, William Willett

this process is similar to the way that firebombing became tinged with messianism before WWII, leading to hideous results in Germany and Japan...

13. Not true - the extra hour of sun makes my lawn grow faster, so I have to mow it more often
yes, I'm joking ;)

Someone actually said that to me a few years ago, and they *weren't* joking.
