| Tiger Woods in 'serious' condition after wreck |
Source: Orlando SentinelProfessional golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident early this morning, the Florida Highway Patrol just reported. Woods, 33, pulled out of his driveway in the Isleworth community about 2:25 a.m. when he struck a fire hydrant, and then drove into a tree at his neighbor's property, FHP reported. Woods was transported to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee in serious condition, FHP said. No other information about his condition has been released. FHP said the airbags in Woods' Cadillac Escalade did not deploy, which means the vehicle was traveling under 33 mph. Read more: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/breakingnews/...

The highway patrol says the crash is still under investigation, and charges are pending. However, the highway patrol said the crash was not alcohol-related. http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/news/story?id=4693657 More details will probably emerge throughout the day. I imagine ESPN will spend all day with this story.

I had someone plow into me on the highway a couple of weeks ago. Her car spun out and t-boned my car. I spun and stopped with my car facing traffic. I managed to turn the car around quickly and get off to the side of the road. Both cars totaled and both of us walked away. I don't know about the other driver but I really wasn't even sore the next day. Poor Tiger wasn't even going 30 miles an hour and gets taken out be a fire hydrant. Damn lucky, I was.

| 9. Tiger Woods seriously injured in FLA |
Source: Orlando Sentinelhttp://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/breakingnews/... ds-accident,0,1369881.story Professional golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident early this morning, the Florida Highway Patrol just reported. FHP said the airbags in Woods' Cadillac Escalade did not deploy, which means the vehicle was traveling under 33 mph. that doesn't look good. hope he'll be okay.
| 107. Tiger Woods: Alcoholic driver. |
| 164. And you know this how? |
| 11. Sounds more like a John Daly story |
I didn't realize Tiger partied that hard. How hard can you hit a tree at "under 33 mph"?
| 25. 33 is pretty fast if you're not wearing a seatbelt n/t |
| 103. It said 33 is the maximum speed without airbags |
He could have been going 10.
| 94. There's a lot of kinetic energy in 33mph |
If you go outside and jog into a tree at, oh, seven or eight miles per hour, you probably wouldn't enjoy the process much. People can get killed with slower impacts than 33mph.
| 142. Um, if you jog into a tree you're not in a giant metal cage. |
The impact in an Escalade at 30mph is not the same as the impact of a body into a tree. Cars made within the last 20 years or so for the most part are designed to crumple on impact, which absorbs a lot of the force... kind of like the difference between jumping off of a roof onto dirt or jumping off of a roof onto an air mattress... the mattress absorbs He was driving a frickin Escalade. 30mph hitting a tree in an Escalade could leave a nasty bruise from the seatbelt, and maybe some whiplash, but nothing else. If the airbags are set to deploy at 33mph, then that means that there is no real risk of serious injury until that point. Basically, the seatbelt's features will decelerate you enough to not cause serious harm. Sure, you're going to be feeling it the next day, but it will not kill you. And as for people getting killed with slower impacts than 33mph... maybe, if they're not wearing their seatbelt or are on a motorcycle or something. But in an Escalade? Example: 2008 Escalade crash test results: http://www.automotive.com/2008/12/cadillac/escalade/cra... And a "How crash tests work" page that describes the numbers a bit: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/car-driving-safety/accide... And finally, a bit of interesting reference material that goes into the numbers: http://hypertextbook.com/facts/2003/MichelleYee.shtml No freakin' way he would have been in "serious" condition unless he wasn't belted in, and then he would have probably gone head on into the windshield causing possible serious injury.
| 12. "pulled out of his driveway..." |
Weird. I wonder what happened. Hope he is ok.
On a side note, I hate those Escalades. When I'm riding my bike, I instinctively move as far away from those over-sized monster vehicles as I can.
| 13. Sounds like a pretty weird accident. nt |
| 14. Yeah, there's more to this one |
Where the hell was he going to go at that hour?
I smell drinking and a fight with the Missus.
I hope he's OK, but if he was an unrestrained driver, going 25-30 MPH and hit a tree, it could be bad.

but they're going to charge him with something. I heard that, too.

doesn't necessarily mean alcohol...could be weed?
| 118. Cannabis wouldn't impair him badly enough. |
Besides, if it were cannabis, he probably would have stayed home.
| 129. Unless he had a serious attack of the munchies and no food in the house. |
Not that it's likely Tiger Woods would have an empty refrigerator, but who knows?
You can't get any food delivered at that hour, obviously.
| 140. He would probably have real good weed |
But that would not cause this
| 166. Yep - like I said, he would have stayed home. |

At least, that's what it does to me!

Wishful thinking from someone who must dislike Tiger because he is rich and famous. Sad really.
| 19. Was he having a stroke when all that stuff happened? |
Or was he under the influence of something?
I can't imagine someone like him crashing going backwards, then crashing going forwards. All that makes no sense at all.

I live with a sleepwalker and know they can do some weird stuff.

I'm a sleepwalker. It gets weird.

Driving while angry...I suspect a dustup with the missus myself (about rumors of an affair?). That can impair your judgment just as much as alcohol. The latest is that he left the hospital early today--according to his agent, is "fine." If there really was booze involved, we'd know by now. But a charge along the lines of reckless driving wouldn't be out of the question. rocktivity
| 42. Perhaps he was ill or injured and trying to get help |
Edited on Fri Nov-27-09 02:11 PM by merh
and the illness/injury was the contributing factor.
Under 33 mph is not reckless.
It's not alcohol related. It's possible that he just lost control under normal circumstances, but unlikely.
More information is needed.
| 133. A terrible hurry at less than 33 mph. LOL. |

| 29. CNN reports it does not appear to be alcohol-related...I'm wondering |
| 32. As one of Tiger's biggest fans I am just hoping that he is ok |
Pretty sick of the affair rumors. Seriously people...
| 33. Facial injuries/lacerations being reported. Charges pending. |
http://www.vancouversun.com/Tiger+Woods+injured+crash/2... Very strange stuff. Hope he's OK, but a big story is coming out of this. Very strange - no alcohol involved, but charges pending - against Tiger, or someone else? Unclear right now.
| 50. Charges pending can also mean that no charges |
have been filed yet but are pending an investigation. Also means charges could end up never being filed though failure to control a vehicle to avoid collision is always available no matter what you were doing before you hit something.
| 110. Alcohol involved. Charges pending. |
All reports say alcohol was NOT involved. Can you back up your allegation?
| 121. I asked the poster the same thing |

I can't find anything online, CNN, MSNBC doesn't mention alcohol so don't hold your breath.

| 72. Some people have different schedules on a holiday... |
We probably shouldn't jump to conclusion (not you, per se, just in general) Hell, my sis was out on the street at 3 am going Black Friday shopping. I've seen my neighbors' friends leave their house after midnight on holidays before.
Just offering my 2 cents.
| 38. perhaps he was ill or injured when he got in the car |
and that illness was a contributing factor in the accident.
| 68. That only makes sense if he were home alone |
and even then he could have called 911. rocktiviy
| 73. Just saying it is a possibility. |
I have a friend who drove himself to the ER when he was having chest pains. He didn't want to worry his wife or wake the kids.
BTW, sportscasters during Alabama/Auburn game said that Woods has been released from the hospital, he suffered facial lacerations.
| 74. Not necessarily...we had a patient who'se husband was having heart attack symptoms |
and that patient was IN the hospital cuz her husband had a full blown heart attack as they were driving to the hospital. They were a block away from the hospital when the crash happened. She was injured, he died. WHY she let HIM drive to the hospital with those symptoms, WHY they didn't call 911..who knows. It turned out to be a fatal and injury causing mistake that she will probably regret the rest of her life.
Some men refuse to let the little woman drive.
I pray that his injuries are not life threatening or fatal. All I can say is "Please, no".
| 54. I know he has so much talent. |
I hope he is ok, love Tiger.
| 44. The hospital will release a statement in 10-20 minutes |
| 46. I'm sure bartcop is gleeful |
The only thing that would make him (and many Du'ers) happier would be a Dallas Cowboys charter crashing.
| 47. I think the "serious injuries" part came from the police report. They were |
reading it on CNN and the officer filling out the form checked "injuries" and then checked "serious". They said there were facial lacerations, and we know our head is very vascular, so maybe it looked more serious than it is, but looked scary enough to check "serious" on the report?
| 51. Tiger was released from the hospital earlier today |
His agent says that he is fine.
| 53. Charges pending - could be for hitting the fire hydrant. Going out in the middle of |
Going out in the middle of the night could mean - going to the drugstore or hospital. Hitting the tree oould mean - passed out.
Sounds like kidney stones.
Why do we have to think the worst? Repeated from above.
| 146. >>Sounds like kidney stones. |
Yes - kidney stones could cause severe impairment, although I would hope that if he had symptoms of kidney stones that his wife would have been driving him to the hospital rather than breaking him out of the car after a crash.
BUT - why on earth would kidney stones leap into your mind based on a car crash into a fire hydrant and tree in the wee hours of the morning?
| 59. oh god how impaired was he? i hope he's ok at the end of the day |
Edited on Fri Nov-27-09 02:27 PM by pitohui
sounds like a classic case of too much partying to me, a single car accident where he hits a fire hydrant and then a tree...
i hope he gets well real soon
i felt a bit like the wicked witch rationing the drinks of the designated driver for thanksgiving but, folks, it just ain't worth it -- it seems if you're tiger woods you could afford to hire someone to drive you around rather than take a chance, your body is your most important piece of equipment when you're an athlete
if "alcohol is not a factor" it's some other impairment, c/mon, you don't hit a fire hydrant AND a tree driving out of your own driveway at 2:30 AM if all's right w. the world...
| 61. Well police say alcohol isn't involved |
Edited on Fri Nov-27-09 02:35 PM by JonLP24
and they're still investigating the accident.
Edit/ Most accidents happen near ones home because that is what you're most relaxed.
| 122. it's still impaired driving if it's drugs, u&i not allowed to drive under influence of ambien |
Edited on Fri Nov-27-09 04:37 PM by pitohui
i'm surprised how many people on this thread want to give him a pass because it's drugs instead of alcohol
they do realize that if it was they, and not tiger, who was driving whilst asleep, they would be checked out of the hospital and into the county jail right abt now
driving whilst impaired by prescription drugs (or illegal drugs) is just as illegal as alcohol...!
i'm not saying put him in jail, i'm saying i wish the rest of us, who can't afford professional drivers, would be given the same mercy if we had to for some reason drive at 2 AM after a holiday and after taking a prescription medicine that "may cause you to drive into fire hydrants and up your neighbor's tree"
i just don't like the double standard, sometimes an accident is just an accident -- for the little people ALSO, not just for the bazillionaires
| 124. Do you have a source that it is drugs? |
i'm surprised how many people on this thread want to give him a pass because it's drugs instead of alcohol ---------------- Because there is nothing factual that suggests drugs are involved. Some of us prefer all the information is there.
| 70. You certainly could if your car has been tampered with. n/t |

Tiger Woods, the corporate whore of 6 continents, and PRESUMED REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL or other conservative/fascist political office, will BE ARRESTED AND CONVICTED OF DUI. We MUST KEEP ON TOP OF THIS AT ALL COSTS.
THIS MUST BE PRIORITIZED. We MUST ensure that this DUI destroys ANY chance that Woods EVEN THINK about representing the corporatized whores that engulf and control the republicans/fascist military industrial complex.

When has he ever hinted at an interest in public office? He is the most famous athlete in the world so yeah he gets alot of endorsements, no reason to hate him. Why must we destroy a man if he screwed up? We must stay on this why? How about staying on the asses of the Conservadems in the Senate and House who have watered down this "healthcare bill", how about PRIORITIZE pressuring Obama to back up his liberal progressive base and not sell out to the insurance companies and other corporate interests. How about we destroy any person who actively campaigns against the equal rights of all people. How about we keep on our law makers until they realize they are destroying our country by occupying 2 sovereign countries. Why dont we make ending the wasteful war on drugs a priority and legalize marijuana. Why dont we keep on our government to save the environment? Why not any of those over destroying an athlete, an entertainer. And off all entertainers why Tiger Woods? Why not Sarah Palin, Rush, Beck?

Guess the main headline on the BBC News website...
1) Casualties feared as Russian passenger train derails between Moscow and St Petersburg 2) Ferry carrying more than 1,000 people sinks in southern Bangladesh, police say 3) Golfer Woods 'hurt in US crash'
Edit: the answer was, at the time of posting this, headline '3'. If you guessed '3' well done—you are awesome!!!

| 88. Unlike our news sources... |

if they aren't repeating the "more later" Tiger Woods story, they are reporting Black Friday scuffles.

My Baby sleepwalks and has done EVERYTHING in his sleep. I have literally had to stop him from driving the car. There were instances in the past before we married when he drove his car while completely asleep. Tha's the first thing I thought when I saw that he'd had this accident and ostensibly wasn't drinking.

and I can carry on very reasonable conversations and continue about the house getting things done and have no memory of it the next day. I have also walked to the blackberry patch and picked blackberries (that didn't go real well - I had scratches from head to toe) but luckily I will not drive. I have a protective mechanism that kicks in around that. I suspect the blackberry thing won't happen again. Ambien has been a Godsend for me so I put up with the side effects and anyway, it's nice to wake up to the clean house. It's not fun to wake up to the cupcake massacree in the bed.

to catch the Black Friday Wal-Mart sale at 5:00 a.m. Have to stand in line for the 32" TV.
People do lots of stupid things when they are tired. My most stupid was backing into a post while washing my car. This was after pulling an all nighter studying for an exam, driving four hours, and hitting a skunk. I was trying to wash the skunk smell out of the car (when I should have just been sleeping).
I would not conclude drugs/alchohol without more evidence. At least he was the only one hurt and not too badly.
It could be lots of things like unplanned acceleration due to mechanical failure (ie like Toyota's problem) or it could have been anger driven (fight with the missus etc).

Edited on Fri Nov-27-09 03:51 PM by Ian David
1) It would save them so much hassle. 2) Their wealth would "trickle-down" to sustain at least one more working-class family.
I say it should be mandatory for anyone making over a million dollars a year to relinquish their driver's license and hire a professional driver with specialized training.
Because rich people can't drive worth shit, which is why we always see these things in the news, which we all know is always an accurate portrayal of the most statistically likely events around us.
With THAT said, I hope he pulls through okay.

to be willing to be available any time the Tiger has to run away from his abusive wife in the middle of the night. Would he/she be entitled to hazardous duty pay?
| 123. Here the facts as I see them .... |
It was 2:30 AM ....
A familiar landmark, a fire hydrant, was apparently forgotten ....
AFTER hitting the fire hydrant, the vehicle then proceeded into a neighbor's tree ...
It is one thing to hit, ... one thing .....
But to hit two separate fixed objects in a roadway ??? .... Either it was purely reckless or it was fast, or both .... The use of alcohol or drugs is yet another aspect, but the event itself will be damaging even without proof of drug or alcohol use ....
I love Tiger, but he is in a world of hurt on this one ..... He has a generally stainless public image, and could stand to lose much over this ....

| 135. Here's mine: Elin smashed the BACK window of the Escalade to get him out? |
I can't believe I'm doing this, but here's how I see it: Big domestic fight. Maybe about the alleged affair; maybe something else (not likely). Tiger storms out. Elin follows, grabs golf club. Much yelling (that may yet come out). He starts backing up. She smashes the back window of the Escalade. He panics, tries to avoid hitting her, hits the tree. Somebody calls the cops. I don't know how he ended up outside the car, semi-conscious. Cops arrive, find her standing over him.
Something bad happened last night for Tiger Woods and his wife.
| 127. Police chief: Woods' wife helped after accident |
— A local police chief in Florida says Tiger Woods' wife used a golf club to smash out the back window and helped get the golfer out of the car. Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor told The Associated Press on Friday that Elin Nordegren told officers she was in the house when she heard the accident and came outside. Saylor says officers found Woods laying in the street with his wife hovering over him. Police say Woods hit a fire hydrant and part of a tree early Friday. Saylor says Woods was in and out of consciousness when his officers arrived. Saylor says Woods had cuts on his lips and blood in his mouth. He says his officers gave him first aid until fire rescue came about 10 minutes later. Saylor says his officers do not believe alcohol was involved. http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&ct2=us%2F0_0_s_0_0...

she pulled him outside of the vehicle. Not sure why the back window but more details will emerge.
Article doesn't say she is holding the club over him, just that she is hovering over him with no mention of a club in her hand.

| 134. Yeah, I read it. But still - 2:25 a.m., rumors swirling - geez. |

And Tiger has been so fastidious about his personal life.
It will come out eventually.

I'm just saying, all those rumors, there has to be smoke.
| 137. hmm, the plot thickens |

perhaps elin was smashing the window out in anger with the club, he got out of the car, and she decked him? hey, it's as good as any other of the theories being posited!

They couldn't talk to him before because he is unconscious.
I'm pretty much done with this. Too many rumors and 'maybes' for me and I'll wait for the all the facts to come forward.

| 143. She was heard screaming, "Save my meal ticket!" as she broke through the glass. |
| 175. What sexist horseshit. She was a financially independent model before she ever MET him. |
"Bad" doesn't even begin to describe what you posted.
Why do you assume that because she's female, she's dependent on a man for a "meal ticket"? She was a successful and financially independent model before she ever met this guy.
Further, even if as you claim he was her "meal ticket," in the event of divorce, her "meal ticket" would have been secured by alimony and/or child support. To suggest she assaulted him because she felt her financial security was at risk is sexist because it implies that she, as a woman, had earned nothing of her own.
If the story is true, she was jealous and pissed, and these conditions are not exclusive to women. If he'd been a woman instead of a man, the 9-iron probably would have landed on his head instead of the back window of the SUV.
But congratulations on making a joke of (alleged) domestic assault.
| 180. These days marrying for a meal ticket is not restricted to one gender |

Or being perceived as having done so.
Larry Fortensky was also a successful businessman before he married Liz Taylor.

That was funny, thank you!

| 141. I hope he mends well. /nt |
| 151. She put a golf club through the window and pulled him out of the car? |
She pulled him dead-weight out of the car?
Okay.
I'm curious about the real reason why she put a golf club through the window.
is why he leaves his golf clubs lying around on the lawn all night so there just happened to be one there. Isn't that bad for them? Or does he carry them on a rack outside the car like fisherman with those tubes on the front of the truck for the rods. And then I'm wondering, she broke the back window? She dragged him all the way through an Escalade and out the back window? Now me, I'd break the side passenger window and try to open the door from the inside.

| 152. TMZ - Tiger Woods & Wife Argued before crash |
http://www.tmz.com/2009/11/27/tiger-woods-fight-wife-cr... / Multiple law enforcement sources tell TMZ Tiger Woods' early morning accident came right after an argument with his wife, Elin Nordegren. We're told Elin told cops about the argument at the scene of the accident and Tiger gave the same story to authorities at the hospital where he was treated. One Florida law enforcement official called it "a domestic issue." Elin apparently was able to forgive and forget -- according to Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor, Nordegren smashed out the back window of Tiger's car to help get him out.
| 157. They've updated saying she caused his injuries |
Tiger Woods did not suffer facial lacerations from a car accident. They were inflicted by his wife, Elin Nordegren -- according to a conversation Woods had Friday after the accident. Tiger has yet to be formally interviewed by the Florida Highway Patrol -- that should happen this afternoon. But we're told Tiger had a conversation Friday -- with a non-law enforcement type -- detailing what went down before his Escalade hit a fire hydrant. We're told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We're told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV -- but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club. More at http://www.tmz.com/2009/11/28/tiger-woods-elin-nordegre...
| 160. Makes much more sense than the initial story |
It'll be interesting to see if he files charges against her. I'm assuming the "he's asleep" when the police came knocking to ask more questions was because he, she and their lawyer(s) had yet to determine how they are going to proceed.
According to TMZ, it doesn't look like Erin was able to "forgive and forget." "We're told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We're told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV -- but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. | 165. Sorry but I have a hard time believing this crap. |
Police report states that his wife broke the back window to get Tiger out of the car, the front doors were locked and you would be an idiot if you were going to break the front or side window with a club and put Tiger at more risk.
Woods was unresponsive when the police tried to talk to him at the scene. TMZ is being full of shit here.
| 171. So you think she beat the window out with a golf club and |
Edited on Sat Nov-28-09 09:50 AM by LisaL
then pulled him out through this window, for what is described as a "minor accident?" Even if the door was locked, and he was passed out and couldn't get out of the car, why not wait until police got there and opened it? It's not like the car was on fire. And where would he be going around 2 am in the morning, and why would he hit a fire hydrant since apparently alcohol wasn't involved?
| 173. beating out the *back* window to get him out |
| 176. Because he was bleeding |
Put yourself in her position. You come out and see your husband bleeding behind the wheel and the door are locked. In that situation you would do just about anything to get him out of the car as soon as possible rather than waiting for the cops to show up.
unless the car is on fire, I would not do it. If the person has any type of neck injury, dragging that person or moving that person without the neck brace could make the condition worse. And that theory by which she just happened upon the scene after he crashed, and then broke the window with a golf club and dragged him out, still doesn't explain where exactly was he going at 2 am in the morning, and why he crashed the car if he wasn't drunk.
There was NO blood on the steering wheel and the windshield and windows were not broken. He "crashed" at a very low speed. If he had hit his face on the steering wheel 1.he wouldn't have laceration-like cuts and 2.there was no blood on the wheel so that is not where he got cut. They are not car glass cuts because no glass was shattered. Apparently he had the injuries before he got in the car.
I just read the police were turned away from the house TWICE today and "will try again tomorrow". TRY??? Just who is running this investigation? Evidently the Woods are. I have always liked Tiger, but he is going to lose all respect if he doesn't just own up to what happened soon.

| 198. I heard on the evening news that |

http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/11/28/tiger.woods/index.html Highway patrol: Agent asks to postpone Tiger Woods interview again November 28, 2009 8:39 p.m. EST STORY HIGHLIGHTS * NEW: Law doesn't require statement, but it's "very unusual" not to do so, police say * NEW: Police will seek surveillance tape and review 911 call, spokeswoman says * Florida highway patrol wanted to talk about car crash outside Woods' home * Troopers had tried to speak to the golfer Friday, but his wife said he was sleeping (CNN) -- State troopers arrived at the home of Tiger Woods on Saturday to interview the pro golfer and his wife about a car crash near his home but were told the couple was not available to talk as scheduled, a spokeswoman for the Florida Highway Patrol said. The troopers were asked by Woods' agent to postpone the interview until Sunday, spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Montes told CNN. She said she didn't know whether a reason was given. Troopers had also tried to speak to Woods on Friday as part of a routine car accident investigation, but his wife said he was sleeping, Montes said. Troopers decided they would come back Saturday afternoon. While Woods is required to show his license, registration and proof of insurance, he's not obligated by state law to give a statement on the crash. However, it's "very unusual" not to do so, Montes said.

Perhaps the Enquirer noise hit a nerve. Messing around while he had an infant at home would be unacceptable. Nothing ever justifies hitting your spouse.
| 183. And now he is **refusing** to meet with the cops...keeps turning them away |
For the second day now in a row they show up at his house, he won't come out and see them.
| 184. maybe he's covering for his abuser. |
though not as common as male on female violence, it happns, and i bet the pattern of covering up is there in these cases too.
| 201. That seems to be what most are thinking... |
Especially since today marks yet another "we are not letting the cops in and have no plans to reschedule a meeting with them". Thast is 3 turnaways.
My thing is...if there is someone in the house with a violent enough temper where it turned to physical abuse..they have 2 kids under the age of 2 yrs old. At the very least, if the cops suspect domestic violence injuries, they need to get Child Protective Services involved. Good luck telling CPS "you cannot come in".
He can hide his face all he wants (he doesn't want cops to see the injuries like they are asking to do)---the ER most likely would have documented every cut/scratch/bump/lump description in their notes so the cops HAVE access to injury description whether Woods wants to cooperate or NOT. Most likely, that is what has prompted the cops to want to see his injuries. Woods is just making this worse on himself from a PR stand by refusing to come out of his Mcmansion to meet the cops.

SHAME ON SOME PEOPLE HERE. Domestic violence is our society's dirty little secret. Each week in my law practice, I have to deal with it. I've had close friends, both sexes, suffer from it. And even worse, our society thinks of men as big and strong and able to defend themselves. Well, sorry, assholes. Men who do not ever raise a finger against a woman suffer as badly as a woman dealing with a 250 lb drunk and angry husband.
I repeat, SHAME ON SOME PEOPLE HERE. I thought progressives were better than that.

As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I'm pretty sore. This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again. This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible. More

he may as well just come out with the truth and be done with it...we are a forgiving nation and have short memories...
not only that, woods has the biggest stockpile of 'good reputation' than maybe any athlete in history...remember how the club-throwing incident was glossed over?? woods could kidnap and torture the pope and maybe lose like 5 percent of his fanbase..
