Seven killed, more than 250 injured in ethnic clashes in Kosovo
KOSOVSKA MITROVICA, Serbia (AFP) - Seven people were killed and more than 250 were injured in northern Kosovo after violent clashes erupted between ethnic Albanians and Serbs, a hospital source said.

The clashes came a day after three ethnic Albanian children were reported drowned after being chased by ethnic Serbs and pushed into a fast-moving river that runs through Kosovska Mitrovica.

Eleven NATO peacekeepers, serving in the UN-administered southern Serbian province, were also reported wounded in the unrest.

The southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica is home to Albanians while the northern part of the town has a Serb majority.

1. The Bush administration's "war on terror" is the biggest destabilizing
event in history. It has given evil people everywhere an opportunity to do what an attentive world would not allow them to do without repercutions. While the entire world's attention is on Iraq and Afghanistan, the progress that was made in other areas of the world, including the ME, has been thwarted. The inhumanity toward Palestinians as is the inhumanity toward other oppressed peoples is at an all time high and the scoundrels know that no one cares and no one is looking.

2. Sorry but I do not see a connection between what's going on in
Iraq and some ethnic clashes in Serbia--this hatred has been going on for hundreds and hundreds of years... it's actually surprising not more has been in the news.
