China's military warns Washington, denies hacking
Source: Reuters

26 Feb 2010, 0027 hrs IST, REUTERS

BEIJING: China's military warned the United States on Thursday to "speak and act cautiously" to avoid reigniting tensions between the two powers, denying the People's Liberation Army played a part in Internet hacking.

Huang Xueping, spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Defence, said his government would not reverse its decision to suspend "bilateral military plans" with Washington after it said in late January that it would sell $6.4 billion of arms to Taiwan, the self-ruled island Beijing claims as its own.

In January, the giant Internet search company Google Inc threatened to pull back from China after complaining of censorship and hacking attacks on it and other companies. Analysts said those attacks were sophisticated operations, possibly overseen or abetted by the Chinese military.

The hacking dispute has added to tensions with Washington over quarrels ranging from trade and the Chinese currency to a meeting last week between US President Barack Obama and exiled Tibetan leader the Dalai Lama, who China reviles as a "separatist" for demanding self-rule for his homeland.

10. Fuck them
now there's a country whose world wide clout is well overstated. We can all thank corporate media for their "china owns U.S." BS. If anyone actually looked at the numbers you would see that the fed reserve holds more of our debt than the chinese due (the chinese own less than a 1/4....i'd say thats hardly owning us). Plus their military power projection is almost non-existant. Lets not forget that we are just one major social instability incident away from collapsing; the chinese people will eventually demand more freedom and rights and i fear the chinese govt will resist. Remember, according to the chinese government, the U.S. is irresponsible for giving their citizens so many rights and allowing them to speak out against the government. Give me a fucking break.

The chinese are peaceful, intelligent people who deserve a better government then the one they have

11. Short memory those guys.
we own that space. we invented it, we pull the best talent. They may make it all, but we invent it and run in. The us military is at least 30 years ahead of china in every major technology.

That is why they want to steal it.
