GOP cash woes threaten fall gains
Source: politico

The Republican National Committee is entering the fall election season with dire financial problems and, to an unprecedented degree, will be forced to rely upon outside groups to fund activities traditionally paid for by the national party.

1. Well, thank God for the Supreme Court!
Gee, that could not have been more timely. What a lucky coincidence.

2. When your truly working for a small minority, you need a lot of money
to bamboozle enough people to win an election.

3. With corporations "free" to spend unlimited money, Republicans have nothing to worry about here
other than how far to pander.

4. You might want to ask Target about how well that worked out...
If we keep the heat on corporations and keep connecting the republicans to their racist, violent, insane tea party core - we may, just may, be able to keep those fat cats from opening their wallets..

8. Target is a special case

For the last several years Target has been wooing the gay/lesbian community, only to stab them in the back with the campaign contribution to an anti-gay candidate.

You won't see Walmart or any other conservative leaning corporation reach out to the gay community to the extend Target did.

9. This is why
I give money to Democratic candidates throughout the country. There are many people at DU that are financially strapped/out of work/losing the battle against the cost of living. I'm not. So if they go to corporations:

It's important for anyone reading this thread who is not experiencing financial challenges at this time to give even $5 to a candidate. Grayson holding his seat, Miller going up against "You Lie Wilson", Ed Postonak going up against Leonard Lance, etc. etc. I'm in NJ but had no problem dedicating $25 a month up through December to Miller and Grayson's campaigns.

Every penny is going to count to go up against the Corporations funding the Rethugs this November. Whether their 'coffers' right now are weak or not - every cent counts.
