Hunt for Serial Killer Intensifies as Attacks Rise (MI, OH, VA)

DETROIT—The FBI's Detroit office on Tuesday joined the hunt for a serial killer believed to be responsible for the deaths of five men in and around Flint, Mich., as well as attacks on more than a dozen others in the Flint area and as far away as Leesburg, Va., in recent days.

The most recent murder victim, a 49-year-old, was found dead in Flint last week, bringing the number of attacks to as many as 20.

Police in Leesburg, Va., about 40 miles northwest of Washington, D.C., say three unsolved attacks this month, including one with a hammer, closely mirror the pattern of the attacks in Michigan. Flint is about 50 miles north of Detroit.

FBI spokeswoman Sandra Berchtold said the agency is providing manpower, and technical and forensic assistance to state and local law enforcement. "We're there to assist them with whatever we need to do.

The Unsub is going fucking wild on a multi-state killing rampage. This guy is getting close to the DC snipers in terms of death totals, and has already surpassed them in # of attacks. Where's the wall to wall coverage?

2. From what I read yesterday, the police were leary of saying it was a serial

killer, but it seems that VA police were the one's who connected the dots and came out about it. First it was about race, then it's not, now it seems that race is playing a part in the stabbings. I guess they needed time to get the "message" out.

Agree about Criminal Minds. All cases wrapped up nice and tidy at the end of 60 minutes. Don't they say he's decompensating?
